More about Elon’s work than about him

First half of the story is fine, and gives some insight into Musk’s life adventures.

Second half - Tesla, SpaceX days, even PayPal - is more about these companies and their employees.

Another issue with bios like this is that they are written way too early. Musk has so much things to do in the future, that it’s hardly a biography. But yes, I get, he’s super famous now, it’s great marketing and all. Right on.

The narrator does a good job imitating Musk’s manner of speaking.

Campbell Scott is really good at his job. Different accents, different tones, pacing… it really feels like the radio play with several different actors. Bravo!

Even though I’ve read and implemented most of the “7 habits”, I found most of this material really practical and insightful.
It’s refreshing how fast you can get first results from
implementing any of the key concepts in your daily life.
It’s also funny to recognize myself in many situations described here, but as the one who typically goes to “silence or violence” :)

I used to enjoy Goosebumps in the 90’s, and it was a nice throwback experience.

The production is really nice, although some actors are overplaying their parts some times. Still, these stories are a perfect fit for people who learn English as their second language as the pronunciation is clear, not so fast and the vocabulary is ain’t sophisticated.

The New Camper story is pretty spooky even for an adult. Other three are pretty obvious in their narrative. What’s good though is (SPOILER!) lack of happy endings.

This book is very bold in its concepts and views, but it is obviously intentional. It is definitely a must-read for every adult man, every future and present father, to further facilitate a critical thinking in oneself and their sons.

And weirdly enough, the quality of performance is surprisingly poor. The narrator sounds so robotic and “edited”, that you get a sense of listening to some airport automatic speech generator, that announces an information about some airline route’s state. And editing is really bad too – overlaps, crackles (especially in Afterword), obvious copy-paste of selected words and phrases... Why, Audible, why?

Absolutely brilliant and necessary read not for just business owners and entrepreneurs, but for everyone who cares for their interpersonal relationships with other people.

The best thing about this book is that it’s read by the Man himself! Gary is super passionate with his delivery and offers a great deal of off-script parts that makes this purchase absolutely worth to buy, even if you already read the print version of the book.

My favorite parts here in this book are dedicated to educational systems and parenting, and what can be done about fixing the current state of things, so that more people could become successful at what they are doing academically.
I also fully support the notion that IQ and similar scale systems are overrated and make no sense when it comes to success at life. Social awareness and savvy are much more important, and this book really hammers this point home.
Yes, 10000 hours rule is a bit controversial, but if you see it through the lenses of “focused methodical practice of the right things”, it would kinda make a lot of sense.
And also Gladwell is a really great narrator, thumbs up for the overall quality of audio and recital.

I guess, in our modern age, in a culture of ever-present social anxiety and consumerism, this book is an inevitable result, a backlash, a counterpoint to the popular notion of popular idea if overall positive thinking. It really shakes some deep topics and it's abrasively honest and direct.
No wishy-washiness. No fluff.
But at the same time the narrative is not bitter and not cynical at all. It has a very strong, very mature balance focusing on of what's really valuable and what's really worth giving a fuck about.
Also, the narrator did a great job.
Highly recommend this to everybody.
