This whole story was so real. It's sorrowful that the inequities continue. I am very ashamed to know I would have been a part of the problem. This story is about the need to see individuals, not color or nationality. It shows we are all human, with the same needs, wants. We all experience the same emotions. I could hardly stop listening and would have done in one listen if possible. Will get another listen.

Story
Marvellously atmospheric tale of strangers summoned to a grand but neglected villa on the Italian coast. Each of them has been named in a will, but nobody knows their benefactress.... Four very different people are named in a will. Delia, an opera singer robbed of her voice by illness; George, an idealistic scientist who cannot face what his skills have created; Marjorie, desperately poor and unable to dislodge her writer’s block; and Lucius, ostensibly in control but whose personal life is in chaos.

Story
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

I listened almost straight through. Went to sleep listening and backtracked as needed in the morning. The reader was terrific. His emotional inflections were great. I laughed ad cried. Cooperation can yield terrific outcomes. We all need to take this lesson to heart.

Story
In 1989 Ken Follett astonished the literary world with The Pillars of the Earth, set in 12th-century England. Readers and listeners ever since have hoped for a sequel. At last, here it is. Although the two novels may be listened to in any order, World Without End also takes place in Kingsbridge, two centuries after the townspeople finished building their exquisite Gothic cathedral. The cathedral is again at the center of a web of love and hate, greed and pride, ambition and revenge.

Story
The West Texas desert towns of Inferno and Bordertown have been slowly dying. The Snake River isn’t the only thing that divides them. Racism and gang wars have turned the sun-scorched flatlands into a powder keg. If anything can unite them now, it’s the UFO that comes crashing through the clouds. It brings with it a young alien named Daufin, a fugitive who has taken human form. She knows the terror that awaits this planet—because it’s looking for her.

loved it, listened almost nonstop. Stories in stories of lessons, learned and that need relearning. Mcammon is a great story teller. I don't like blood and gore but there is a place for it here. This story teller has a way with words that lets your imagination run movies through your mind as you listen.
