Publisher's summary

The basis for the Peacock TV series Teacup: An extraterrestrial bounty hunter turns a Southern community into its private hunting ground in “the ultimate horror novel” (The Philadelphia Inquirer) .

The West Texas desert towns of Inferno and Bordertown have been slowly dying. The Snake River isn’t the only thing that divides them. Racism and gang wars have turned the sun-scorched flatlands into a powder keg. If anything can unite them now, it’s the UFO that comes crashing through the clouds.

It brings with it a young alien named Daufin, a fugitive who has taken human form. She knows the terror that awaits this planet—because it’s looking for her. Stinger is an alien bounty hunter with an infinite capacity for death and a devious plan to find Daufin. Entombing the region in an inescapable dome, Stinger unleashes a violent fury unknown to humankind. Now, the few remaining survivors must come together to protect Daufin, themselves, and the world beyond.

From Robert McCammon, the New York Times–bestselling and Bram Stoker Award–winning author, Stinger is “one of the best suspense novels of recent years” (Science Fiction Chronicle). It has now been adapted into one of the most hotly anticipated horror series on television: Teacup, premiering on Peacock this October.

Trey Parker reads Stinger

The story is good, not McCammon’s best. But it did just finish reading The Border and that’s a damn masterpiece! The biggest problem I had is the narrator made the characters sound like South Park characters. It was hard to take serious. I kept laughing at his West Texas accents.

Nobody but McCammon

This was a reread of one of my favorite books. Nobody can weave a story quite like this author. Now that a few decades has passed and the technology is there to do it justice, I hope this one is considered for a movie!

If you like Tremors, you’ll love this

Very much like the movie Tremors but with a alien invasion instead. Nice use of humor throughout. Great character arcs.

Fun and Exciting

Hits all the right notes for SciFi, lighthearted, comical, horrifying and touching with a neat and tidy ending. Credit Worthy.

Solid sci-fi horror.

It's nothing ground- breaking but I did really enjoy it. I'll probably check out at least one more of McCammon's books.

The best of Robert McCammon

We are big fans of all Mr Mammon’s books but Stinger is now our favorite! And probably one of our top five we would recommend to friends.

wow wow wow!

wildly entertaining.

in today's world where so many novels, movies etc... are cynical this is a breath of fresh air.

it turns out that people do find redemption and can set aside their prejudices.

this novel has it all... excitement, suspense, relatable characters, warmth, lot's of humor and body horror too. it even dabbles in a bit of "high concept" science fiction.

the narrator handles the characters pretty well too. personally, I'm not a big fan of narration with voices but he does a good job without it becoming distracting.

Great story and narration!

This is my second, McCammon book I have read/listened to. I couldn’t stop reading this one just like, Gone South. I highly recommend it and any other, Robert McCammon book you can get your hands on.
