Story
Attorney Jane Smith is mounting an impossible criminal defense. Her client, Rob Jacobson, is the unluckiest of the lucky. No sooner is he accused of killing a family of three in the Hamptons than a second family is gunned down. It’s not double jeopardy. It’s not double murder. It’s double triple homicide. Jane’s career has spanned from NYPD beat cop to Hamptons courtroom. She’s tough to beat. She’s even tougher to kill. The defense may never rest.

Story
Kay Willingham led a life as glamorous as it was public - she was a gorgeous Georgetown socialite, philanthropist, and the ex-wife of the vice president. So why was she parked in a Bentley convertible idling behind a DC private school, in the middle of the night, with the man who was the head of that school? Who shot them both, point blank, and why? The shocking double homicide is blazed across the internet, TV, newspapers - and across Alex Cross's mind. Kay had been his patient once. And maybe more.

Needs to pronounce names correctly
Reviewed: 10-26-21
Why would have someone read an audible book & change the pronunciation of a main character (that’s already been in the 20 previous books!)??? Jāney is not Jane-y…same thing happened in a previous book in this series that changed Ali’s pronunciation to the feminine Allie! Drove me crazy thru the entire book! Surely someone at Hackett listened to it before releasing it?!?
