Story
The construct of race has always been used to gain and keep power, to create dynamics that separate and silence. This remarkable reimagining of Dr. Ibram X. Kendi's National Book Award-winning Stamped from the Beginning reveals the history of racist ideas in America, and inspires hope for an antiracist future. It takes you on a race journey from then to now, shows you why we feel how we feel, and why the poison of racism lingers. It also proves that while racist ideas have always been easy to fabricate and distribute, they can also be discredited.

Healing requires separation. When Ethic discovers malice in a woman he thought was perfect, he walks away from their love. Keeping his family safe is his main priority, and falling for Alani Lenika Hill is dangerous. The history of their love haunts him, however, and getting over her isn't easy. not so much this time around

I guess I struggled a little bit. This book had song lyrics and way too much details in the sex. There was no context to the stories really and I liked one and two this book was more of a p*** book. The storyline was mediocre because the book focused strictly on sex. I Hope for better in the next one because I love Messiah and want to see what transpires between him and Ethic about Morgan which I was hoping for in this book.
