Very Insightful and Encouraging Especially for Women
Reviewed: 03-13-24
This is the first book of Denise that I’ve read. It was very good. I appreciate that she also narrated it. I think it’s easier to connect with a book when the author does the reading. I will be getting more of her books…she seems like a precious woman and her love for Jesus can be heard and felt in this book.

Good Story…Character Voices are Really Off
Reviewed: 12-10-23
I liked the story. The narrators normal reading voice was great…but the character voices were off to me the whole time. Luke sounded like a 60 year old smoker and Jessie sounded like a 15 year old hillbilly. I finished it and enjoyed the story and writing itself…but I had to just decide to look beyond those voices because they didn’t match the characters at all.

Loved it!
Reviewed: 08-18-20
I have read several books on Elvis's life and this is probably my favorite. I really enjoyed this book. I felt she was honest and told the story well and in a personal way. I enjoyed the details of his personality, generosity, spirituality and what he was really like in the last nine months of his life. There are many laughs along the way like the machine gun and the toilet and the 50 cent McDonald's gift certificates. She did a great job as a narrator and many times I felt like I could hear the crack in her voice as the real emotions came back to her. Well worth the read.

Story
Thirteen-time #1 national bestselling author Glenn Beck realized years ago that somewhere along the way, his four children had become more focused on Santa than the meaning of Christmas. No matter how he tried, he could not redirect their attention away from presents and elves to the manger instead. Glenn didn't want to be the Grinch who spoiled the magic of Kris Kringle, so he had to find a unique way to turn his kids back toward the true meaning of Christmas. He decided the best place to start was by first turning Santa himself back toward Christ.

Not about finances.
Reviewed: 04-30-19
This may be my fault however, I did read the book summary and about a dozen reviews and this lead me to believe that this was a book about finances...it is not. If you are looking for that or even a book on good Christian stewardship over finances this is not your book. It is a book about a mans visions of God giving out keys, gold and callings to people. I returned it as it did not hold my interest, probably because I was looking for a book in the financial arena.

Love, Lucy is the valentine Lucille Ball left for her fans—a warm, wise, and witty memoir written by Lucy herself. The legendary star of the classic sitcom I Love Lucy was at the pinnacle of her success when she sat down to record the story of her life. No comedienne had made America laugh so hard, no television actress had made the leap from radio and B movies to become one of the world’s best-loved performers. This is her story—in her own words.

If you're reading this to find anything juicy or really honest about her marriage to Desi you will be sorely disappointed. She never really even addresses what happened. This was mostly about her childhood and her career.

Very good read!
Reviewed: 09-09-18
After reading the reviews I was somewhat apprehensive about reading this book. However, I enjoyed it very much. It is well written and interesting and I also liked the narrators performance. I’m a little house fan (books and show) and felt this book is good at giving insight into Caroline the person and really everyday life for women back then. I read so many reviews complaining about the one sex scene toward the end. It was not graphic or inappropriate. It was well written and I felt it was a natural part of the story between this loving husband and wife and therefore no big deal for adult readers. My single complaint would be her continued talk and descriptions of nursing, breast feeding, leaking, milk production, sore breasts etc.... It went on and on through several chapters and frankly was too much. Other than that minor annoyance, I loved the book.
