Story
When Josh Underwood is thrown through a wormhole and lands on an unfamiliar world, he is immediately attacked by flesh-eating worms and snarling wolves. He has one huge advantage. A ring sits on his finger, but it's no ordinary ring. It's alien tech designed to improve its host’s strength, speed, agility, durability and combat instinct. Not all boons are infinitely wondrous. This tech has to understand what Josh needs for it to evolve, and time is of the essence.

Finished the book, but just a typical teenager's harem fantasy. Ample chested, stunning women who are happy seeing their man with other ample chested, stunning women. Liked the readers anyway.

Story
My life took a turn I never expected on the day the world ended. Suddenly forced to fight in a bloody arena by a faceless System, I find the only way to survive is to win. I’m told that ten victories in the arena will give me my freedom, but if I’m going to get there, I’ll need a crack team of hardened allies to fight with me. What I got instead was a bratty college girl with a jealousy streak, a momma’s boy roommate who now inhabits the body of a piglet, and a devastatingly gorgeous teacher whose sword is as sharp as her tongue.

Couldn't finish, just a teenage boy's fantasy. Pretty bad dialog during the spicy spots. Liked the readers, they just didn't have much to work with.

Story
Neither cosmic philosopher Lars Soren, hotshot pilot Bianca Petrescu, nor the high priestess Jessica McHugh—Lady Death herself—can say quite where in the galaxy they are. But after an experiment gone horribly wrong, one thing is clear: Asphodel Station isn’t in orbit around Jupiter any longer. Worse, the monsters that live out here—ancient eldritch beings thought only to exist in stories and nightmares—have now been alerted to Earth’s existence.

Not my kind of J. Maberry story.
Reviewed: 03-14-25
This story just didn't do it for me. It started as an interesting sci-fi adventure with the characters lost in a galaxy truly far, far away. Ray Porter is excellent as always. The story becomes a mech tale with characters I didn't care about because they could die over and over again. Their battles become boring since you know it don't really mater. The last couple hours even became monotonous and a little annoying. I feel bad being negative to Mr. Maberry but any of his fans that have tastes similar to mine probably won't enjoy.

Story
In 2036, an eccentric billionaire funded humanity’s first trip to Mars as an ego project. That expedition made the most significant discovery in human history: proof of extraterrestrial life. The ancient alien outpost they found catapulted humanity’s knowledge of faster-than-light travel, genetic engineering, and planetary colonization forward by centuries. Almost a century later, humanity has shown that despite their use of advanced technology, some things haven’t changed.

Formulaic harem story
Reviewed: 03-11-25
Started out as in interesting sci-fi action, adventure tale then turned into an overly predictable standard harem story. A beautiful woman that loves to see her man with other women. The first love scene was like the author was still in high school and had just watched his first porn vid. Almost quit it there. Never quit a book in the middle of a sex scene. Starting to believe that the hotter the women is on the cover art, the weaker the story will be.

Story
A small Georgia town erupts in panic when a young college professor is found brutally mutilated in the local diner. But it's only when town pediatrician and coroner Sara Linton does the autopsy that the full extent of the killer's twisted work becomes clear. Sara's ex-husband, Police Chief Jeffrey Tolliver, leads the investigation - a trail of terror that grows increasingly macabre when another local woman is found crucified a few days later.

No likeable characters. The main male in the story is a full of himself jerk who cheated on his wife. None of that maters though because he's good looking. The MC divorced him but is still stupid about him. The nice guy that keeps trying to date her is of no interest. Maybe this is purely a female fantasy story. Can't understand almost 4 1/2 stars by over 7,000 readers. I sometimes wonder if only the people that like certain books bother to write a review.

Story
With the failure of Hadley's Hope, Weyland-Yutani has suffered a devastating setback - the loss of the Aliens they aggressively sought to exploit. Yet there's a reason the Company has risen to the top of the food chain. True to form, they have a redundancy already in place: the facility known as "The Cold Forge". Remote station RB-232 has become their greatest asset in weaponizing the Xenomorphs. However, when Dorian Sudler is sent to RB-232 to assess their progress, he discovers that there's a spy aboard - someone who doesn't necessarily act in the company's best interests.

Not even for diehard ALIEN fans.
Reviewed: 03-07-20
Nothing gets a person to writing a review like a bad book. I only forced myself to finish because it was an ALIEN story. The ALIEN story was a decent idea but was just a background for some terribly written characters that you didn't care to hear about. The main character is so overdone as the most uber a-hole that ever existed. It doesn't take long listening to the outrageous examples of how big a jerk this guy is in every way for you to just get sick of hearing about him. None of it is believable. Really, none of the characters are likeable and you end up not wanting to hear about any of them. Even if you are a diehard ALIEN fan I'd still say no.
Nothing against Michael Braun's reading. Nobody could read something this lame and make it worth listening to.

Everyone thinks Emmy Dockery is crazy. Obsessed with finding the link between hundreds of unsolved cases, Emmy has taken leave from her job as an FBI researcher. Now all she has are the newspaper clippings that wallpaper her bedroom, and her recurring nightmares of an all-consuming fire. Not even Emmy's ex-boyfriend, field agent Harrison "Books" Bookman, will believe her that hundreds of kidnappings, rapes, and murders are all connected.

Wow did that get bad!

The book is a decent mystery/thriller for the first 3/4 of the way then the authors must of let one's 13 year old niece finish. The last hour or two was very hard to get through. The mostly intelligent, adult writing that gets you that far is replaced by the main character leading with juvenile thoughts and actions, and a heavy helping of smarmy story lines. The intelligent, well trained, and experienced characters of the book are always out done by the thoughtless and childish actions of the main character. If you can make it to the end the sappiness there will make you groan and wonder why you went ahead and finished.
