About this listen

A small Georgia town erupts in panic when a young college professor is found brutally mutilated in the local diner. But it's only when town pediatrician and coroner Sara Linton does the autopsy that the full extent of the killer's twisted work becomes clear.

Sara's ex-husband, Police Chief Jeffrey Tolliver, leads the investigation - a trail of terror that grows increasingly macabre when another local woman is found crucified a few days later. But he's got more than a sadistic serial killer on his hands, for the county's sole female detective, Lena Adams - the first victim's sister - wants to serve her own justice.

But it is Sara who holds the key to finding the killer. A secret from her past could unmask the brilliantly malevolent psychopath...or mean her death.

Perfect!!!

The book was excellent and the narration brought it life! The characters are realistic and relatable and very, very human. I like that although Jeffrey and Sara had so many misunderstandings between them that they have a start to understanding each other and finding their way back inspite of past mistakes.
I really enjoyed the villain, the way the author did not shy away from the grisly descriptions. If you like chick lit with lots of sex and no real content, pass on this book!

Good story

Any additional comments?

I wanted a book that got my attention early and kept it. Blindsighted certainly did the job. Sarah, a doctor, is a great character - so is her ex husband/chief policeman Jeffrey. My only complaint is that the torture situations are upsetting. This is not great literature, but the author does a good job telling a story and the reader does a good job performing the characters. I am glad I picked this book and I will listen to the next book in the series.

Gruesome is right! Title does not give a clue!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I am not sure that I would recommend it to anyone unless I provided some details which may be a spoiler for some. Some parts of the story, are pretty sick and difficult to listen to.

Who was your favorite character and why?

All the characters were interesting. None really stood out as a favorite in my opinion because all had serious flaws such past drug use, dishonesty, adulterous, nosiness, gossips, selfish ego-centric, whiny, etc. No one character is perfect.

Have you listened to any of Kathleen Early’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have only read one other book. Both books provide pretty graphic sexual descriptions especially when someone is being violated.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It is a long story. I thought that the end of the story may have been written by someone else. It started to accelerate and became more interesting. I was not able to identify the criminal until close to the end.

I felt the story was weak and the connections could have been better explained I don’t think I will continue with this series

The best awful books come from Karin Slaughter!

When I say awful, I mean the topics that occur to the characters. But Karin is an amazing story-teller! As long as you're aware of what kind of story you're getting into, you won't be able to put the book down!

not bad

tough start. the main character appears to be a bit of a candy. later on it makes sense . at one point everyone in town seems to be a dumb ass. narrator is monotone. over all a decent read
