Story
After a freak lightning accident zaps him dead, 15-year-old Mochizuki Touya wakes up to find himself face-to-face with God. “I am afraid to say that I have made a bit of a blunder...” laments the old coot. But all is not lost! God says he can reincarnate Touya into a world of fantasy, and as a bonus, he gets to bring his smartphone along with him! So begins Touya's adventure in a new, anachronistic pseudo-medieval world. Friends! Laughs! Tears! Inexplicable Deus ex Machina!

Amazing Voice Acting

A fun story that is truly enriched by the voice acting. The story expands on the story presented in the anime

Story
Jamestown, England's first real foothold in the New World, was fraught with danger - from starvation and disease to violent skirmishes between colonists and the native populations. Mortality rates were impossibly high: six out of seven settlers died within the first few years. How clear these and other perils were made to the 56 young women who left their homes and boarded ships in England in 1621, nearly 15 years after Jamestown's founding, is not known. But we do know who they were. Their ages ranged from 16 to 28, and they were deemed "young and uncorrupt".

Disappointing
Reviewed: 09-19-21
While I appreciate the research that was presented here, I was hoping for more on the women. I found that the author made up for a lack of knowledge about the women by discussing the men around them - not what I was expecting from this book.

One of my Favorites
Reviewed: 03-14-21
I like to reread (or listen to) books and this is of my favorites. The narration by Laural Merlington only makes it better. I listen to this book once every few months - I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve listened to it and I enjoy it every time.

Story
Barbarians, political breakdown, economic collapse, mass migration, pillaging and plunder. The fall of the Roman Empire has been studied for years, but genetics, climate science, forensic science, network models, and globalization studies have reshaped our understanding of one of the most important events in human history. PhD historian and specialist Patrick Wyman brings the cutting edge of history to listeners in plain, relatable English.

Really interesting, and scary

I love tots podcast series and this is another wonderful addition. It makes learning about history so much fun! However, listening to this episode in 2020 is terrifying because of the similarities to modern society and events.
