Story
A decade ago, the Marquess of Bourne was cast from society with nothing but his title. Now a partner in London's most exclusive gaming hell, the cold, ruthless Bourne will do whatever it takes to regain his inheritance - including marrying perfect, proper Lady Penelope Marbury. A broken engagement and years of disappointing courtships have left Penelope with little interest in a quiet, comfortable marriage, and a longing for something more. How lucky that her new husband has access to an unexplored world of pleasures.

Sorry it ended!

Rosalyn Landor's performance is simply outstanding. I find myself amazed that any one person could change their voice in such an engaging way that captures the essence of the character with the voice.
The story is clever, fun and had the necessary spice with characters that were developed enough that I was sorry when the telling was over! The writing actually had me in tears and laughing out loud sometimes within seconds of each other.

It took me a few chapters to get into the characters and story, and I thought this might just be BDSM without story. but I was pleasantly surprised by the heat of the interactions that eventually occurred and thoroughly enjoyed the sensual story line!

Story
You'll love this collection of three Anne Rice favorites at a bargain price. The Witching Hour: Demonstrating once again her gift for spellbinding storytelling, Anne Rice makes real a family of witches - a family given to poetry and incest, to murder and philosophy, a family that is itself haunted by a powerful, dangerous and seductive being. Lasher: Now, Anne Rice brings us again - even more magically - into the midst of the dynasty of witches she introduced in The Witching Hour. Taltos: What can I confess? I'm Ashlar. I'm a Taltos.

Disappointed
Reviewed: 08-14-19
I loved the original series and had read them in book form. After recently listening to another in the series, I decided to listen again to the early books. I figured this was a bargain and I knew the story, so abridged should be fine. I was wrong. All the richness and detail that I love was missing and pieces of the story were gone. I wish I could return this purchase as I won't keep listening. It is too frustrating to not hear the story I remember reading. A waste of money for me.

I enjoyed the story lines of this book better than many lately. More about about the brothers and life than the lessons. Fun to read!

Story
Anita has never seen Damian, her vampire servant, in such a state. The rising sun doesn't usher in the peaceful death that he desperately needs. Instead, he's being bombarded with violent nightmares and blood sweats. And now, with Damian at his most vulnerable, Anita needs him the most. The vampire who created him, who subjected him to centuries of torture, might be losing control, allowing rogue vampires to run wild and break one of their kind's few strict taboos.

This book was, for me, the most enjoyable of the recent Anita series. There was a better balance of story and romance scenes.
