Story
Nina once bought into the idea that her fancy liberal arts degree would lead to a fulfilling career. When that dream crashed, she turned to stealing from rich kids in LA alongside her wily Irish boyfriend, Lachlan. Nina learned from the best: Her mother was the original con artist, hustling to give her daughter a decent childhood despite their wayward life. But when her mom gets sick, Nina puts everything on the line to help her, even if it means running her most audacious, dangerous scam yet.

This is my first book by this author. I read all the great reviews and was looking for a short suspense book. This did not disappoint. For me it did start a little slow, but ended with a bang. I tried the whole time to figure it all out and every time something unfolded I couldn’t believe it. You will not be disappointed.

Story
It was a typical evening at a mall outside Portland, Maine. Three teenage friends waited for the movie to start. A boy flirted with the girl selling sunglasses. Mothers and children shopped together, and the manager at the video game store tended to customers. Then the shooters arrived. The chaos and carnage lasted only eight minutes before the killers were taken down. But for those who lived through it, the effects would last forever.

I am a huge fan of Jodi Picoult. I haven’t ever read any Nora Roberts books but since I’ve read all of the Picoult books I thought I’d give her a try. Wow! I couldn’t put my phone down. I loved the voice of the narrator as much as the story. I couldn’t get enough and it ended perfect. I can’t wait to read another of her books! This one was great
