About this listen

A #1 Wall Street Journal bestseller.

Every time Gwen closed her eyes, she saw him in her nightmares. Now her eyes are open, and he’s not going away.

Gwen Proctor won the battle to save her kids from her ex-husband, serial killer Melvin Royal, and his league of psychotic accomplices. But the war isn’t over. Not since Melvin broke out of prison. Not since she received a chilling text...

You’re not safe anywhere now.

Her refuge at Stillhouse Lake has become a trap. Gwen leaves her children in the protective custody of a fortified, well-armed neighbor. Now, with the help of Sam Cade, brother of one of Melvin’s victims, Gwen is going hunting. She’s learned how from one of the sickest killers alive.

But what she’s up against is beyond anything she feared—a sophisticated and savage mind game calculated to destroy her. As trust beyond her small circle of friends begins to vanish, Gwen has only fury and vengeance to believe in as she closes in on her prey. And sure as the night, one of them will die.

Stunning Conclusion Keeps Us On Edge

This is the sequel to Stillhouse Lake, the story of the wife and children of a notorious serial killer after his capture. They were forced into hiding by hackers seemingly convinced they had to be complicit in the horrible murders committed by the killer. Killman Creek picks up where Stllhouse left off. Their husband and father has escaped prison and it’s likely he will be coming after his family.

In order to save her family, the mother must turn the tables by exposing the hackers and become the hunter of her husband. But who are The hackers? Why do they persist? And what is their connection to her husband? All of these questions are answered in this masterful thriller of a novel.

This is just as good as book one. I couldn’t stop listening. I couldn’t wait to see how it ended. Would recommend this to anyone

Some good, and some bad . . .

Good: The teenaged girl's hysterical interactions with adults, were believable. Bad: Overall, however, the description the other characters' thoughts, seemed exaggerated. I got the feeling that if I were watching a movie, I would be complaining about the consistent overacting.
I still couldn't abandon the book. It was worth finishing.

Just as good as he first

I didn't think the sequel could be any better than the first, it was in every way! I was a bit nervous that the characters perspective kept changing to different characters, and it didn't diminish anything. Well written suspense.

Masterfully written Crime Story

Oh my Goodness ... this book got such a tight grip on my body and mind that it kept me on the edge for the most of the story ... I am actually utterly surprised that the second book is even better - tension wise -than the first one ... Usually authors run out of the juice, but not Rachel Caine. Kudos for a masterfully written crime story ...

Loved it

I could hardly wait for this book to be released. It was great. I’m not sure if there’ll be another with Gwen but I sure hope so. I always like it when Emily Sutton-Smith narrates.
