amazing series! Greg does a wonderful job bringing the characters and emotions to life. my only complaint was that I felt the spring queen's conflict was kind of left a little dangly but everything else was tied up nicely.

another cute one from this author. a hard fought HEA for Seahorse and Orca while they navigate all the rules and changes thrust upon them.

it's been a long time since I've read the first one in the Heron Manor series and some of the details and world building "rules" were a little confusing from not remembering but not enough that I was lost.

this was a new narrator for me and I think he did a good job and I would listen to more from him.

okay so I love Teddy Hamilton and I will buy anything duet so I was excited about this one. the performance was amazing. Teddy was awesome, as always, and I really enjoyed my first experience with Aaron Shedlock but the story left me disappointed. the characters were so wishy washy with their feelings I was left very confused. In one scene Main Character 1 is thinking about how deep his feelings are for MC2 then the next scene he rejects the other when MC2 declares his feels... the conflict felt contrived. overall just okay but I was annoyed with the characters for most of it.

I love every book in this series but King Alric and Lord Eldritch are my favorites. the story is a perfect blend of wry humor, serious action, and romance. I only wish there was more!

Greg Boudreaux does an excellent job narrating. all the characters have distinct voices and he does so well emoting.

one of my favorite authors and narrators together! the story was fun and exciting though I would suggest reading EJ Russell's books in publication order to better understand the characters as many of them are reoccurring. Greg Boudreaux did a phenomenal job with many different characters and accents easily distinguishable.

sweet, low angst. as with most short stories, I wish it could have been longer to get to know the characters better but still a great story.

the narrator is new to me but I think he did a great job and will seek out more of his work in the future.

I didn't love the story. it felt like it dragged. the beginning seemed more like a slice of life until about two thirds of the way through when they hit the main conflict.

I did like that it was about two men in their 40s which is a bit different, at least for me. there was a lot of relationship development which, thought I found it a bit slow, helped show the connection between the two partners.

Nick Russo did a great job, he does well showing the emotions in the characters- you can feel the laughing and the sarcasm and the added chuckles and stuff are a nice touch.

overall, a good performance but a little slow moving for me.

I struggled to finish this one. I think the story was interesting and I liked the characters for the most part. Wolf seemed sort of helpless, almost damsel in distress-y which seemed weird after successfully infiltrating the crime gang for two years. My biggest problem with the story overall was the amount of introspection and excessive descriptions. Characters mulled over the same issues over and over. There was so much detail and background information about side characters that ultimately didn't play much of a part.

I enjoyed the narration but wish he had enunciated a bit more. I'm still not sure if Evan's first name is Jarrett or Jared. otherwise he did a great job, I haven't listened to much of his work prior to this and will seek it out in the future.

Overall, it was a good book, it just dragged a bit for me. I could see myself trying out book 2.
