Story
A part of me wants to run away again. The memory of my death still haunts my dreams. But this is my home now. And I'll be damned if I give it up without a fight. I mean, all I have to do is learn how to navigate xianxia politics and train for battle while simultaneously running my farm and uncovering an ancient cataclysm that apparently destroyed the Azure Hills back in the day. Meanwhile, I'm about to be a father . . . Man, I'm kinda screwed, aren't I? At least I can call in the cavalry—ahem, poultry—to help.

A bit slower than prior books

Don't get me wrong, I still adore the series it's just this one felt like a filler episode. Not sure if he's getting some world building out of the way, but I certainly hope the next one picks back up with some progress.

I've read almost every single Christina Henry book, and I put this one off to the end. it was very enjoyable and I love Amelia as a character. Henry does an excellent job showing the hypocrisy and unfair treatment of women through her writing.

Story
It's not safe for anyone alone in the woods. There are predators that come out at night: critters and coyotes, snakes and wolves. But the woman in the red jacket has no choice. Not since the Crisis came, decimated the population, and sent those who survived fleeing into quarantine camps that serve as breeding grounds for death, destruction, and disease. She is just a woman trying not to get killed in a world that doesn't look anything like the one she grew up in, the one that was perfectly sane and normal and boring until three months ago.

It's OK

There were moments I struggled to keep with this book. It is not nearly as good as theAice chronicles or Lost Boy. I found myself rolling my eyes at the protagonist at times because of how arrogant and immature she came across. At the end, the protagonist reflects on how she has changed but I found this very disingenuous, because I didn't feel that the character had changed at all during the story. And the part that was her anti gun rant irked me. Shes living in a world full of every kind of monster but acts like somehow hacking people to death is better then shooting them. And the constant "I'm not disabled!" followed by the character admitting that her prosthetic foot hindered her mobility. The supporting characters were better then protagonist. Overall, the book felt rushed to the end, the protagonist was not the most endearing, and it is not Henry's best.

I can honestly say this book was original enough that I never saw half of it coming. I was pretty much hooked after the first chapter, and finished it in around 4 days. Performance was top notch.

I really hope this series takes off and they do some longer stories! I would vote for that bunny for president in 2020.

Story
In 2003, software engineer David Miller left his job, family, and friends to hike 2,172 miles of the Appalachian Trail. AWOL on the Appalachian Trail is Miller’s account of this thru-hike from Georgia to Maine. Listeners are treated to rich descriptions of the Appalachian Mountains, the isolation and reverie, the inspiration that fueled his quest, and the rewards of taking a less conventional path through life. While this book abounds with introspection and perseverance, it also provides useful passages about hiking gear and planning.

This is a great inspirational story of a man's adventure on the Appalachian trail. I enjoyed the ride, and can't wait to get back out to the trails.
