Story
William Waters grew up in a house silenced by tragedy, where his parents could hardly bear to look at him, much less love him—so when he meets the spirited and ambitious Julia Padavano in his freshman year of college, it’s as if the world has lit up around him. With Julia comes her family, as she and her three sisters are inseparable: Sylvie, the family’s dreamer, is happiest with her nose in a book; Cecelia is a free-spirited artist; and Emeline patiently takes care of them all.

Sloooooow story! Wanted to give up! Monotone narration
Reviewed: 05-17-25
I am disappointed! I had high hopes after reading reviews. This book moved so slowly! It could have been better - not great - but better with about 1/2 the length. Narration was monotone, without feeling. Disappointing.

Lily and her ex-husband, Ryle, have just settled into a civil coparenting rhythm when she suddenly bumps into her first love, Atlas, again. After nearly two years separated, she is elated that for once, time is on their side, and she immediately says yes when Atlas asks her on a date. Depressing and Drawn Out! Like watching something die very slowly
Reviewed: 07-29-24
Sooooo long, drawn out and dark/depressing! No real plot or story - just one crappy thing after another in the life of a family. JUST AWFUL!! I don't understand the good reviews. Save the credit and ask the most depressed/depressing person you know to tell you a story!!

Story
Anna Green thought she was marrying Liam “West” Weston for access to subsidized family housing while at UCLA. She also thought she’d signed divorce papers when the graduation caps were tossed, and they both went on their merry ways. Three years later, Anna is a starving artist living paycheck to paycheck while West is a Stanford professor. He may be one of four heirs to the Weston Foods conglomerate, but he has little interest in working for the heartless corporation his family built from the ground up. He is interested, however, in his one-hundred-million-dollar inheritance.

Waaaaay TMI in the FREQUENT, drawn out sex scenes!
Reviewed: 07-21-24
The story was predictable. If you read the brief summary, you know the ending. The frequent, drawn out, unnecessary sex scenes were gross! I'm not a prude, but if I wanted all of that, 'he was panting when he pulled out; it was so large,' - just to start - I'd buy a run of the mill smut novel. There was no place for this in an otherwise snarky, humorous beach read! Gross !
