I listened to the sample and HAD to listen to the entire story! Richard Armitage is delightfully endearing as he recorded an apologetic into, and proceeds to record a wonderful rendition of this novel!! I can only say that Agatha Christie was a GENIUS. What an amazing story with twists and turns, engaging and often amusing characters, and a super satisfying ending!! I highly recommend this book!! And particularly this audiobook version!!! Both are masterfully executed!!

I keep coming back to this book and this performance. Simon Callow brings all of these vivid characters to life. I love that this is one of Dickens' shorter novels, yet it ties together so many storylines by the end with satisfying brilliance. Get through the middle parts, the standoff at the end of the book is one of my favorite scenes of any book, ever!! I love this book so much. I love Simon Callow's performance so much!!

Don't get me wrong, I liked this book, and it's interesting to follow it through this wide period of time... It's just a bit dialogue-heavy for me, especially in audiobook format. I do feel the need to read the next book. Just, not, right away.

Wouldn't it be nice if it said it SOMEWHERE, ANYWHERE?? I listened to the unabridged version of this book many years ago and I started wondering about certain scenes not being there. This is super dumbed-down. I'm getting my credit back from Audible and hoping that the other Timeline book in Audible is unabridged!!!!

Well, I just finished RP2, and there were a lot of fun elements to this book. The editor really needed to be tougher and shave off about 67% of the Prince stuff. And I love Prince! Overall it's a fun read but who can top RP1? That's one of my favorite books ever, especially read by the brilliant Wil Wheaton!! So it's a really hard act to follow. But even if there hadn't been a RP1 I would still be overall meh about the forced elements in the plot, and how it (as I mentioned earlier) really needed some editing at places. Ironically it felt like their time on middle earth was way short and limited to a loathsome blackened ... sorry. (River Song voice) Spoilers!
I'm not saying don't read this book, I'm just saying don't look for the perfect balance that Eric Cline achieved in RP1. Overall, I did like the book, and am glad I read it.

I bought this by accident, thinking the real Ogilvy book was on sale. Obviously I overpaid for my carelessness.
The reader sounds like he's yelling, so basically I have the impression that Mr. Ogilvy was a lecturing, loud, obnoxious, in-your-face know-it-all. In this form, important points fly by like billboards on a highway... forgotten when the next one yells in your face a few seconds later.

This would have been more interesting if it had quoted the "other side" more. It was pretty rah rah for Tesla, and Elon Musk.
I don't think they prescreened the narrator. She overpronounced words to distraction, and mispronounced many along the way. I kind of feel like I wasted five bucks. If you are learning English, you may find this to be easily understood, but don't base your spoken language on her accent!

I love the HDTV shows with Jonathan & Drew, so it's fun to hear about how they grew up, what they do when they're not filming, and some background stories during shoots.
There are also some little bits written by their parents, their older brother, their girlfriend/wife, read by the people themselves.
Their stories of childhood and young adulthood were great. It's refreshing (for me at least) to read about a NON-dysfunctional family! Lots of fun storytelling with their not-so-spontenious style, which works... after all, I love what I see on the shows, and it's a similar vibe. It's the Property Brothers, after all.
I recommend this book to all who love the Scott brothers' shows and want something encouraging and funny to read, in between other more serious and depressing books you may listen to on Audible. :)
