About this listen

In an Arizona desert a man wanders in a daze, speaking words that make no sense. Within twenty-four hours he is dead, his body swiftly cremated by his only known associates. Halfway around the world archaeologists make a shocking discovery at a medieval site. Suddenly they are swept off to the headquarters of a secretive multinational corporation that has developed an astounding technology. Now this group is about to get a chance not to study the past but to enter it. And with history opened to the present, the dead awakened to the living, these men and women will soon find themselves fighting for their very survival—six hundred years ago. . . .

Technology and Ponies

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

If they like time travel and medieval stuff then this book will float your 1324 battleship.

What did you like best about this story?

My roommate and I listened to it while on a road trip. I fell asleep somewhere during the explanation of quantum physics, so you'd have to ask him.

Which character – as performed by Stephen Lang – was your favorite?

Anyone who spoke in medieval English.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No... BUT... if you want to get some crazy good nap time in on a boring roadtrip this is perfect (especially if the driver digs it, because that is the person who needs to be awake and all.)

Any additional comments?

I would say I slept for AT LEAST 80% of this book, but from what I heard it was pretty good.

Thrilling story from start to finish

This was a great listen. Crichton does not disappoint. Despite being out for many years now this book still has a long waiting list at my local library. That should say something in itself.

Exciting, refreshing novel

Great novel, keeps you on the edge, well written, excellent narrator. I enjoy reading about quantum mechanics and it's latest advances. This book, although fiction, gives the reader a slight introduction to this exciting science. Great book, it contains every thing: romance, love, hate, patriotism, betrayal, loyalty, science, and our everlasting contribution to humanity - War!

First audio book completed.

In the beginning, need to get used to not holding a actual book. An hour into it all settle down. However would love to have actual female to read the female parts. So allow reader get into the story better.
