Story
In September 1969, a fumbling, cranky old church deacon known as Sportcoat shuffles into the courtyard of the Cause Houses housing project in south Brooklyn, pulls a .38 from his pocket, and, in front of everybody, shoots the project's drug dealer at point-blank range. The reasons for this desperate burst of violence and the consequences that spring from it lie at the heart of Deacon King Kong, James McBride's funny, moving novel and his first since his National Book Award-winning The Good Lord Bird.

The story was interesting from the beginning to the end. The characters are truly characters and realistic. The ending is abrupt but it fits. This story is worth the time and the credit.

The story is complex and the characters are interesting. The narration is stellar. It definitely leaves you wanting more.
There is no foul language, there is some same sex coupling, that doesn’t overshadow the whole story.

Story
Who is Audrey Hoedemaker? It's a question her sister Maureen has heard more times than she can count, and she doesn't know what the short answer would be. Little sister, troubled teen, backpacker, musical theatre coach, con artist, childcare worker. Murderer. A tragic, traumatic childhood casts a long shadow on the Hoedemaker sisters. Maureen has worked hard to move beyond the violence of the past and build a good, honest life for herself. Audrey, however, just can't seem to do the same, careening from one state of chaos to another.

This was an engaging tale of two sisters from an unfortunate family background. The questions that I kept asking myself during the story were answered clearly in the end. Very little foul language or explicit sex scenes.

I found this book worth the time invested in listening to it. Even though it was fairytale-like, there were interesting plot twists and the character development was good. There were no explicit sex scenes or expletives.

There is some foul language but besides torture and murder there is nothing else offensive.

Carter Kingsley: My savior and ruthless corporate raider hell bent on destroying the newspaper I love. Oh, and my new boss. His first order of business? Cut half the staff. I should hate him. Easy, right? Wrong. I met him two weeks ago, when he saved me from the most awkward first date of my life. I was looking for a way out when he strolled up in a ten-thousand dollar suit with a winning smile, and told a white lie that turned the date from hell into heavenly bliss.

Story
My rule is to never fall in love with a client. His rule? To never fall in love at all. I work at an elite matchmaking company. A failing one, to be honest. We’re near bankruptcy when billionaire Anthony Winter invests. It’s only business for him - he doesn’t believe in the company’s mission. No, Anthony tells me true love is a lie and our clients are delusional. He’s a cynic in a thousand-dollar suit. He’s also a challenge I can't resist. We make a bet. I have three dates to prove our service works. Three dates to set him up with the woman he never knew he needed.

Although some of or most of the storyline is sad, the story is quite interesting. Sometimes it seemed slow but all of the parts were needed to get the depth of the characters. Almost everything is tied up by the end.
I appreciated no foul language or explicit sex.

Story
I'm getting really good at cutting my losses. First, the husband. Divorcing him was the best decision I ever made. But between single-parenting and job-hunting, I can't catch my breath. When a celebrity blogging position falls into my lap, I'm determined to succeed. That is, until I get my first assignment and actually see Noah Frazier for the first time...practically naked and dripping wet. My heart races and I forget how to form complete sentences. His chiseled abs, irresistible smirk, and crystal blue eyes are too perfect to be real. So, what do I do? Get drunk and humiliate myself, of course.
