Story
Three friends, women in their fifties, set out to hike "the most beautiful long-distance trail in the world," the John Muir Trail. From the outset, their adventure is complicated by self-inflicted accidents and ferocious weather, then enriched when they "adopt" a young hiker abandoned by her partner along the trail.

Enjoyable listen for non-hikers. Pretty amazing! I think I enjoyed the details of the daily hikes. Very descriptive so it went slow but I think that was the point! Good listen.

Story
They say that only truck drivers experience the true grandeur and landscape of America. In A Trucker's Tale, Ed Miller gives an inside look at the allure of the work and the colorful characters who haul our goods on the open road. He shares what it was like to grow up in a trucking family, his experience as an equipment officer in Vietnam, and the trials and tribulations of life as a trucker. His tales are often funny, sometimes sad, cringeworthy, or unbelievable. Many are the results of what he calls "just plain stupidity."

Insightful perspective from a four wheeler

I don’t normally find the topic of truck drivers appealing as I share the road with them 75% of my work life. Up to now I’ve only been frustrated with truckers bottlenecking our interstates, swerving while distracted in their cell phones or cutting in front of me to pass another trucker. This was an interesting book and I know some of my ill perceived thoughts of the truckers I share roadways will undoubted improve. Safe travels to all.

Story
When it comes to the “hard seasons” of life—the death of a loved one, divorce, loss of a job—transformation seems impossible when grief and uncertainty dominate your days. Especially when, as Didn’t See that Coming reveals, no one asks to have their future completely rearranged for them. But, as Rachel Hollis writes, it is up to you how you come through your pain—you can come through changed for the better, having learned and grown, or stuck in place where your identity becomes rooted in what hurt you.

How to stand back up!. Again. And again

Rachel Hollis has created a community and a business that feeds the needs of many people. This book opens readers to a more authentic view of challenges and Rachel’s head on approach to deal with those challenges during a very vulnerable space in time. Practical advice to come out the other side of any hardship having learned something from it and continuing to show up in a desired way. Practical advise to sit with something that is hard rather than try to make it disappear. Dig in. There’s something here for everyone.
