Story
Shari Franke’s childhood was a constant battle for survival. Her mother, Ruby Franke, enforced a severe moral code while maintaining a façade of a picture-perfect family for their wildly popular YouTube channel 8 Passengers, which documented the day-to-day life of raising six children for a staggering 2.5 million subscribers. But a darker truth lurked beneath the surface—Ruby’s wholesome online persona masked a more tyrannical parenting style than anyone could have imagined.

No choice but to walk through the fire

Shari, your biography touched my soul. You are one brave woman to turn ashes to beauty. Please keep paving your way through life and don’t ever give up. It’s not my time to share my story, but I’ll just say I now have two daughters and it has healed my heart so much to stop the toxic abusive generational trauma. You have a bright future ahead. I’m proud of you. -Emily Harrison

Story
Hillbilly Elegy is a passionate and personal analysis of a culture in crisis - that of white working-class Americans. The decline of this group, a demographic of our country that has been slowly disintegrating over 40 years, has been reported on with growing frequency and alarm but has never before been written about as searingly from the inside. J. D. Vance tells the true story of what a social, regional, and class decline feels like when you were born with it hung around your neck.

I grew up in similar circumstances as JD, and this hit home. Some days I am down, and I still get up each day to do the things so that my kids never live the life I lived. This book is inspiring me to keep going each day and to never give up hope.

Feyre has undergone more trials than one human woman can carry in her heart. Though she’s now been granted the powers and lifespan of the High Fae, she is haunted by her time Under the Mountain and the terrible deeds she performed to save the lives of Tamlin and his people. As her marriage to Tamlin approaches, Feyre’s hollowness and nightmares consume her. She finds herself split into two different people: one who upholds her bargain with Rhysand, High Lord of the feared Night Court, and one who lives out her life in the Spring Court with Tamlin.
