I really like this series and this book has great twists to the bigger plot. Still steamy and dark as well. I didn’t love the narrators - a bit wooden at times. But overall still good. Looking forward to the next installment.

Story
Humpback whales are among the most intelligent animals on Earth. Some scientists believe they might even surpass humans in self-awareness, empathy, and communication skills. In this episode, we swim with a whale as he teams up with other humpbacks to use bubbles to catch fish, rescues a sea lion, and puts his own spin on melodies sung by whales across the Pacific Ocean. This is the world in its natural state, defined by seasons, routines, and cycles. By the time this whale is ready to close one eye and go to sleep, you will be too.

I’ve had insomnia for years and this entire series has been a huge relief! Helps me fall asleep within minutes. And they’re long enough that if I wake up in the middle of the night they help me fall back asleep. Perfect narration, sound effects, and story content combinations. I highly recommend.

Story
Crows have long been the subject of folklore, likely because they’re strikingly similar to humans, leading lives rich in personality, intelligence, and relationships. In this episode, we fly the streets of Seattle with a crow as she grooms her mate, delivers what appears to be a gift, and finally commutes miles away from her territory to gather and chat with thousands of other crows before it’s time to roost for the night.

Story
Shame. Prejudice. Fear. All woven into the very fabric of my being. I'm swathed in them like the most suffocating cloak. Beneath this toxic mantle, I wear my desires close to my heart. Where it's dark. Where they're safe. Until I meet Darcy, a dancer at Alchemy and the most beautiful woman I've ever seen. The only problem? Her boyfriend, Max. She makes me feel alive, but he arouses emotions I've taken great care my entire life to condemn and deny and bury. Emotions I've always been taught are sinful and wrong.

Story
I've endured fifteen years of underwhelming marital sex with Lord John Russell. One front-page tell-all from his secretary puts an end to that misery pretty efficiently. As the media furor rages around our divorce, two things become abundantly clear. One: it's time for some decent orgasms, which is why I've joined the Unfurl program at London's top sex club, Alchemy. Two: it's time to take control of the narrative, for myself and for other women. That's why I plan to document my sexual revolution on camera.

I love redheaded men. Yes, redheads. Any shade from strawberry to bright sunset to hot-rod red. I love gingers and they love me. I love the way their freckles stand out. I love the way their necks get red when they get hot, sunburned, or turned on. I love the way I can spot one in a room and know they’re going to be mine.

The illegitimate daughter of an English lord, Sian Jones abandoned her heritage to live in a stalwart coal-mining community in South Wales. Empowered by their cause, she's engaged to be married to the leader of a revolutionary movement that is bracing itself against the tyranny of English mine owners. But Sian's principles are unexpectedly shaken when she accepts a job as governess under Alexander Hyatt, the mysterious marquess of Craille, the oppressive symbol of everything she has come to resist.

Amazing characters and story

I wasn’t entirely sure about this one based on the description. But I really like other works by the author and LOVE Roslyn Landor. Neither disappoints. I highly recommend. It has a HEA without the typical predictable formulaic way of getting there. This is not your average historical romance, but just as romantic, a bit steamy, and certainly steeped in its historical setting. If you’re unsure it’s worth the credit and listen time!

Anna Jones just wants to finish college and figure out her life. Falling for star quarterback Drew Baylor is certainly not on her to do list. Confident and charming, he lives in the limelight and is way too gorgeous for his own good. If only she could ignore his heated stares and stop thinking about doing hot and dirty things with him. Easy, right? Too bad he's committed to making her break every rule.

This was an all around fabulous listen/read! The characters were really well developed, the story felt surprisingly real and relatable, and the editing kept it feeling fully fleshed out without dragging on. Some steamy spice but also deep emotions, and great performances by the narrators. This was a first from this author for me and I am so so pleased! Definitely going to try more of their work. Highly recommend!

Story
I’m the only Dixon brother to step up when our family crumbled. When I took over the ranch, I lost everything, career included. My heart hadn’t been in it anyway. It couldn’t. A girl stole it a dozen years ago when she left, dreaming of a world outside our small town. Now she’s back. Different hair. New style. Kid clutching her hand. Wrecked by the man who put the ring on her finger. Not a trace of the Madison Black I knew.

Love is complicated, but no, I’m sorry
Reviewed: 05-22-24
SPOILERS
I have really been enjoying the brewed series. Dramatic, but fine, that’s what I’m here for. But I just could not get on board with this one. Izzy was such a great character, and Hunter’s and Izzy’s journey of healing together and discovery of love was SO much more compelling, imo, than just “you’ve been my world since you said you were going to marry me at 5” (paraphrase, of course). Who is Madison?! We know almost nothing about her, except that she built her world around whatever Hunter wanted, then left it all, and has been emotionally wrecked ever since?
I’m sorry, no, this did not go the right way. I was so hoping that whatever the big secret was it was going to make Hunter realize he was in love with the memory of Madison, not the present version of her (which he doesn’t even know at all!!!) and Izzy was it! And that moving on and letting yourself feel again or experience a different kind of love (which makes sense when you’re in your 30s and not a teenager!) was actually where it was at. Can we have that ending please??
