Story
From the glamorous to the entitled, from royalty to the financially ruined, everyone who wanted to be seen—or just to gawk—at the hottest restaurants in New York City came to places Michael Cecchi-Azzolina helped run. His phone number was passed around among those who wanted to curry favor, during the decades when restaurants replaced clubs and theater as, well, theater in the most visible, vibrant city in the world. Besides dropping us back into a vanished time, Your Table Is Ready takes us places we’d never be able to get into on our own.

Both the book description and reviews did not disappoint. The first review I read said “unbelievably crass” (which actually sold me on it) and it did not disappoint. Feels like an all-in-one-take movie turned to book. 10/10

Story
Daniel Sloss' stand-up comedy engages, enrages, offends, unsettles, educates, comforts, and gets audiences roaring with laughter - all at the same time. In his groundbreaking specials, seen on Netflix and HBO, he has brilliantly tackled everything from male toxicity and friendship to love, romance, and marriage - and claims (with the data to back it up) that his on-stage laser-like dissection of relationships has single-handedly caused more than 300 divorces and 120,000 breakups.

Favorite book of the year
Reviewed: 10-13-21
This has biome my favorite book of the year. Maybe top 5 of al time for me.
I should mention that I’ve been a fan of Sloss for a while now. I am a big stand up comedy fan in general and I’ve seen his 3 online specials.
That said, I’ve also been reading a lot a of audio books lately - about 2-5 per month and this is the first one where I was compelled to write a review.
I’ve read some funny audio books before but none have been this hilarious. It had me laughing out loud in public. Even the acknowledgments were funny. Definitely not a book for you if you get easily offended or don’t know how to take a joke but overall I thought the book was incredibly smart, real, relatable and thoughtful/thought provoking with a constant peppering of inappropriate (but hilarious) jokes.
Already shared to everyone I know and will continue to recommend.
Looking forward to see your show in Austin Sloss. Great job with the book.

Bought the book after seeing in and of itself on Hulu and was a good way of learning more about Derek sine he blew my mind on the show. That said, I was hoping for more.
