Story
After the killing of a prominent mob lawyer, NYPD homicide detectives Jacob Jackson and Caitlin Grimes start receive chilling, written “rules” for how to commit the perfect murder. "Rule number one for the perfect murder: Evidence is your enemy. Leave none behind." Jackson (Reid Scott) and Grimes (Cobie Smulders) race to find the killer, setting them on a collision course with the city’s crime underbelly, and a perpetrator who seems happy to toy with them. “Rule number two. No crimes of passion. The perfect murder is always business, never pleasure.”

Story
Destined to Die Young is the definitive examination of why the world lost Elvis Presley on August 16, 1977, when he was only 42 years old. Author Sally Hoedel has painstakingly researched the subject and offers factual and scientific data—plus never-before-published information she gained by interviewing people who personally knew Elvis—to support her claim that Elvis Presley was never going to live a long life.

FINALLY! Ms Hoedel gives a well-researched account of Elvis Presley’s probable medical issues which lead to his untimely death. It isn’t pretty, but it is well-written with the respect and compassion he deserves. What a relief for his fans to know the truth is NOT as the media has long portrayed. As for the performance/reading, I am disappointed the author was also the narrator as her voice is not a pleasing one; it was a struggle to listen throughout.

Story
My husband and I are fighting for our lives in hospital after a terrible car accident. But despite my pain, all I can think about is what our families will find behind our front door. The scarf that has been all over the news, belonging to a dead young woman with honey-coloured hair. I have to speak to the police before my husband can. I’m drifting in and out of consciousness, but when I hear my wife talking to the police, accusing me of the murder of an innocent woman, a cold fear grips me. I know I’ve got a temper.

Story
Ten years ago he killed my son. Today I married him. Ten years ago my darling son Jesse was murdered and our perfect family was destroyed. My strong, handsome boy, so full of life, became a memory, a photo I carried with me everywhere. But today I’m finally close to finding happiness again. My ash-blonde hair has been curled into ringlets. Carefully placed white flowers frame my delicate features. The small, drab chapel has been prettied up with white satin, and there are tiny red hearts scattered on the small table where I will soon sign the register with my new husband.

Wow! Just wow! I listened to KL Slater’s “The Widow” first, loved it, and decided to try “The Marriage” even though I couldn’t imagine it would be as good as “The Widow.” (I figured the chance of that is about the same as lightning striking the same spot twice.) Although I was creeped out for the first one-third of it, felt it started rather slowly and considered giving up, it ultimately grabbed me by the throat and wouldn’t let go! So many, twist, turns, secrets and surprises - I have a new favorite author!!!
