Marc Headley provides an insider's view of life as a member of Scientology's "Sea Organization". Marc worked at Scientology's secret desert compound, which houses all Scientology management, for 15 years. The 500-acre property is located deep in the California desert. The local townspeople were told lectures and films were made there. But is that all that was happening? It is the location of a multi-million-dollar home for L. Ron Hubbard, built two decades after his death. It is the home of Scientology's current leader, David Miscavige.

Brilliant writing, amusing, entertaining, informative. But sadly, there seems to be a political agenda emerging. And that is not what I like spending money and time for. Enjoyed the first two. Hoping the next book will be content with telling a great story, without the untoward irritating extra layer that simply does not fit.

What a joy to listen to Sir Cliff, a man I have always admired and appreciated. Felt enormous outrage when he was so undeservedly, brutally persecuted by police and media. May God bless him always and fully heal every wound as he walks in the forgiveness that bestows lasting peace. Thank you, Sir Cliff, for your sterling example and lovely music!

Finding your reading for the day

Finding your reading for the day
Reviewed: 12-09-20
There are three chapters per day. To find your days's reading, multiply the day of the year by three. Example: some diaries will tell you that 9 December is day 342 of the year. Otherwise, Google it. Multiply 342 by 3. That is 1026. So, Chapter 1026 will give you one of the 3 readings for the day, give or take.

This Afrikaans book is a great listening experience! Daar was 'n paar beskrywings met te veel bloed en derms na my smaak, maar wie kan almal gelyk tevrede stel? Die uitgewer het die Kindle-prys te duur gemaak. Toe wag ek en koop die gedrukte eksemplaar by 'n uitverkoping - my klein protesaksie.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
There is much to enjoy in this further episode in Gabriel's adventures. However, the occult/fortune teller theme is creepy and that is why I am giving it a thumbs down in both my Kindle and Audible libraries. Here's hoping Mr. Silva will write on for many a year, but avoid that kind of theme in the future.

What disappointed you about Separate Lives?
This is not the kind of story I want to expose myself to. I stopped listening before the end of the first chapter.
What do you think your next listen will be?
Something uplifting and healing.
Would you be willing to try another one of Fred Wolinsky’s performances?
No.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
No
Any additional comments?
I guess it was my mistake not to find out more before buying this.
