About this listen

Brought to you by Penguin.

This audiobook in The Thursday Murder Club series is read by a new narrator, Fiona Shaw.

A new mystery is afoot in the third book in the Thursday Murder Club series from record-breaking, bestselling author Richard Osman.

This audiobook includes an exclusive interview between Richard Osman and journalist and TV presenter Steph McGovern.

It is an ordinary Thursday, and things should finally be returning to normal.

Except trouble is never far away where the Thursday Murder Club are concerned. A local news legend is on the hunt for a sensational headline, and soon the gang are hot on the trail of two murders, ten years apart.

To make matters worse, a new nemesis pays Elizabeth a visit, presenting her with a deadly mission: kill or be killed...

While Elizabeth grapples with her conscience (and a gun), the gang and their unlikely new friends (including TV stars, money launderers and ex-KGB colonels) unravel a new mystery. But can they catch the culprit and save Elizabeth before the murderer strikes again?

Better then ever

Richard is really hitting straps now. The series is more delightful than ever thanks to fabulous characters and enjoyable plot and really quirky writing and humour.

I love Richard’s books!

I certainly missed the narration of Lesley Manville, but didn’t mind Fiona as much as other reviewers.

The worst part about the whole thing is that it’s over now. I’ll have to start again from scratch until the 4th book comes out.

Great story, why change narrator?

I really love the series and this third book is no exception.
I will agree with other reviews commenting on the switch of narrators though. Fiona Shaw is not a bad narrator but the previous narrator did such a fabulous job of making the characters come alive that anyone would fall short of our expectations as listeners. It took me some time to come to terms with this switch which in the end impacted the listening experience a bit.

Lovely characters have become annoying

I can’t finish the 3rd book. The lovely and funny characters in books 1 and 2 are now just annoying, as are the new characters. What a difference the narrator makes.

Fantastic story and narration is top class.

I noticed a review complaining about a different narrator for this book. Don't worry, it's excellent. She even gets Bog Dan right. Now I'm ready for the film! 🥁

I miss them already...

loved this book... best so far... Fiona Shaw is wonderful... she manages to convey so much more than just the (brilliant) words on the page...
I miss the gang already.....

Yeah it's still great

The reality of a new narrator threw me, I'm not going to lie, but not to worry, two or three chapters in you're happily back with friends. Another solid outing for the fab four.
