In this season of dying, Cooger & Dark's Pandemonium Shadow Show has come to Green Town, Illinois, to destroy every life touched by its strange and sinister mystery.

...and then everyone witnessed Noah got his flood.

Everyone's witness to this storyline. Like the water that covered the land during Noah and his ark. The water goes thru our fingers, just as leaves fall from the trees in fall and we can't catch them. So Ray Bradbury weaved his story and no one can hold on but we know everyone will understand this story.

Story
The science of emotion is in the midst of a revolution on par with the discovery of relativity in physics and natural selection in biology. Leading the charge is psychologist and neuroscientist Lisa Feldman Barrett, whose research overturns the long-standing belief that emotions are automatic, universal, and hardwired in different brain regions. Instead, Barrett shows, we construct each instance of emotion through a unique interplay of brain, body, and culture.

Its hard to believe the parallel the author is trying to achieve, so that being said, I accepted each separately and learned twice as much from the story. Pleasantly written and easy to understand I found the story very enjoyable glad for the happy ending.

Story
Renée Ballard works the night shift in Hollywood, beginning many investigations but finishing none, as each morning she turns her cases over to day shift detectives. A once up-and-coming detective, she's been given this beat as punishment after filing a sexual harassment complaint against a supervisor. But one night she catches two cases she doesn't want to part with: the brutal beating of a prostitute left for dead in a parking lot and the killing of a young woman in a nightclub shooting. Ballard is determined not to give up at dawn.

but story is old news. Everyone in book was suspected to be criminal, except the main character. I rooted for her to win, and everyone else to lose.

struggled to finish. Very difficult read. And very lengthy. But the new information about the story and characters was very valuable for my understanding of the series, which makes it a must read.
