Story
The history of the Ivy League dates back to 1869 when Princeton played the first college football game against Rutgers. The Ancient Eight explores Ivy League football today. To play in the NFL, one must maintain the highest academic standards and be a great football player. The rivalries are as intense, as are the strict rules–but there is also a genuine purity in the Ivy League.

Told a good story about some interesting people, but didn't seem to plunge to the depths of storytelling of most Feinstein books. Repeats himself a LOT. Not nearly as compelling as what I'm used to from this outstanding author.

Story
Long before his iconic paraphrased Bible translation, The Message, Eugene H. Peterson (1932-2018) faithfully preached for decades to the small congregation of Christ Our King Presbyterian Church in Bel Air, Maryland. As the seasons passed, along with the accompanying fasts and feasts, Peterson faithfully revealed ways to cultivate a robust, authentic life of faith, intimacy, obedience, and joy. Now you can gain new insights into Peterson’s preaching and pastoral life through this collection of his most compelling yet never-before-published sermons.

Great material, well-read, but oh, those cumbersome citations

Pastor Peterson’s sermons are immensely nourishing and insightful as always, Fred Sanders’ reading of them on point as always…but the decision to read the in-text citations, particularly the URL-based ones, is stupefying. In a handful of the sermons, these killed the flow of thought to the point of making it almost unlistenable.
Even still, I highly recommend.

Informative & compelling; not perfect

If you could sum up The Culture Code in three words, what would they be?
It provided a lot of insight into human behavior in relation to responses to different kinds of leadership
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Culture Code?
The story about the kindergartners and the marshmallows was an effective lead-in
Have you listened to any of Will Damron’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No--I have no basis for comparison in this regard
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
No, it didn't. It is engaging enough that I've listened to parts of it twice. Listening with a critical, but non-cynical, ear helped. There were a couple illustrations that didn't hold up as well as the others.
