Story
When Jack and Elizabeth meet as college students in the gritty '90s Chicago art scene, the two quickly join forces and hold on tight, each eager to claim a place in the thriving underground scene with an appreciative kindred spirit. Fast-forward twenty years to suburban married life, and alongside the challenges of parenting, they encounter the often-baffling pursuits of health and happiness from polyamorous would-be suitors to home-renovation hysteria.

Great book, great narration. I didn't expect it to be as good as The Nix, but it definitely was. Highly recommend.

Listning to this book was like having a really, really drunk friend try to tell you a story. I'm interested in what he's saying, I want to find out what happened, but after 9 hours I don't have the slightest idea what he's talking about. There are a huge amount of characters none with any personality whatsoever, so its impossible to figure out who's who. I think one guy is a Jack-in-the-box and one might be a dog or a bird. But don't quote me on that.

Best Author/Narrator Combination on the Planet

Just as good as the first 6 books and possibly even funnier. I've finished many of the books mad as hell at Evil Mr. Abercrombie for trying to make me hate the characters I like so much (I'm talking to you Last Argument Of Kings!) But after a little time goes by I get over it and respect what he did. I'm constantly trying to find a series of this caliber to listen too and never even coming close. Would gladly take recommendations.
Actual text conversation with a friend I recommended the series too.
"I finished Best Served Cold what's next?"
"The Hero's"
"I thought you said you didn't like The Hero's?"
"I said it was my least favorite of the series but still better then the 20 books I've listened too since then."
Am I the only one that started the book thinking Gunnar might actually be another character back with yet another alias?
I suppose that was just the voice the narrator used and wishful "Bloody" thinking on my behalf.

Story
When you have to kill the same terrorist twice in one week there’s either something wrong with your world or something wrong with your skills - and there’s nothing wrong with Joe Ledger’s skills. And that’s both a good and a bad thing. It’s good because he’s a Baltimore detective who has just been secretly recruited by the government to lead a new task force created to deal with the problems that Homeland Security can’t handle....

I hate Joe

If this was a movie Joe Ledger could only be played by Steven Seagal or David Hasselhoff. I have 7 hours left, I don't think I can finish. Joe just violently ordered the head doctor to go help the soldier who was bit by a zombie. Um, doesn't that mean he'll be a zombie in less then a minute??

Big fan of Brandon Sanderson but this was just awful. Characters and dialog were painfully bad. Probably didn't help that the narrator sounds like the talking box from the Progressive Insurance commercials. Highly recommend Mistborn and Stormlight Archives , but skip this one.
I'm surprised how highly it's rated on here.
