This book is an amazing blend of science and indigenous wisdom wrapped in storytelling. Allow plenty of time . . . not a book to rush through . . . I listened to 2-3 chapters a day and traded off with other adventure-type books for a perfect balance!

I usually love epics but, half-way through this second book, I found myself avoiding the book and didn't continue; at 2 credits/book, I'm not ordering the rest of the series. I liked the various characters and the structure of these books but there was no humor, no comic relief, no lightheartedness anywhere - too grim for me.
