Love most of Dean Koontz’s books…..however.

I am downright obsessed with very many of his books. By the light of the moon,lightning, watcher, Hideaway to name a few. I love the not quite real, but yet believable action, adventure fantasy horror that he writes into his stories. But this however, feels like it should be a young adult book a little too fanciful a little too weird way too unbelievable, and although the reader was good, it very much added to the young adult feel of the story. if you are a car hard-core fan of Dean Kunz, please skip this book.

I bought this book because the reviews were so great. I expected a lighthearted fun adventure. Instead I’m just confused and I’m still not sure what it was about. The reviews were so good that I became convinced I bought the wrong book. It felt like a knock off of The Wizard of Oz.

I killed my first victim at thirteen years old - my age, not his. He was going to rape me, him and a couple of his friends. And so, I killed him. And then.... I killed again. And again. At seventeen, I'm killing four to six times a year - maybe more. Don't stress out. I only go after the pedophiles and rapists. There are more out there than I could cover in a lifetime. Saying I did this on my own would be selfish. Enforcing justice holds a glory all its own. But now, my lifelong friend and backup, Deegan, has been arrested.

I don't know if the book is bad or if the reader makes it bad. First of all it sounds like it was recorded in someone's tin shed. She also has no intonation or emotion. She sounds like a first grader learning to read. The book could be interesting but clearly missing all the actual interesting parts.

She jokes that she won't bite, but they don't laugh. Melanie loves school. She loves learning about spelling and sums and the world outside the classroom and the children's cells. She tells her favorite teacher all the things she'll do when she grows up.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
It was mildly entertaining, but definitely not worth all the hype I saw in many other reviews. I couldn't wait to get to the end so I could listen to something else.

I would not normally not read zombie books, but prob will not read anymore.

This book was an awkward attempt to make an adult version of Harry Potter. Not well written. Was very little flow of characters. Many portions of this bookmark me feel embarrassed by the inability to have a plot.
