About this listen

It's a lousy first day on the job for Nina Blackman. A patient, loopy from the anesthesia, bites her. At least he was cute. The next morning, Nina wakes up with a set of razor-sharp fangs, bionic vision, supersonic hearing, and a taste for blood. But there's a good explanation: It's her patient, Long Island vampire Greg Statleon. Is Nina willing to commit to one man for eternity, even if they are perfect for each other?

Somebody Stake Her Already!

What did you love best about Accidentally Dead?

It was really funny in most parts. And the vampires were dreamy.

If you’ve listened to books by Dakota Cassidy before, how does this one compare?

I’ve only listened to the first one in the series. I liked them both but my major beef is with all the usage of the Lord’s name in vain so much. If it wasn’t for that, I would’ve given it five stars. As a lab tech and working in blood bank, I really liked how the author got the explanation about the main character drinking certain blood types and building up antibodies correct. Nina did drive me crazy though. I really wanted to stake her at times. It was a little over done and repetitive with her nagging and the same old arguments.

Have you listened to any of Meredith Mitchell’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Only with the first book in this series. She is wonderful! She is what makes the books so funny.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Nin’s Grandmother was about to die.

Any additional comments?

I don’t think I can listen to any more of this series due to the Lord’s name being taken in vain. However, I feel such a connection to the friends that I do want to listen to Wanda’s story. Maybe I should read it so I can skip the cursing. I can handle just about any cursing except GD.

Nina Nina Nina

Nina's character was written the way it was suppose to be. If you hate her winey character, she finally gets some sense in about the last hour of the book. Overall great book.

ONLY with headphones

Otherwise, you need to get the paperback. Decent story- I love paranormal romance- but be warned the sex scenes are straight up porn...so only listen with adults that are cool with it.

Ended too Soon

Any additional comments?

This book ended in the middle of the story. The villian was easily/quickly foiled and Nina never learned and/or explored her new powers. There was so much more that should've been expanded upon but wasn't. That being said, it was otherwise an enjoyable listen that kept me entertained.

Narration

I thought the story overall was good but the females version of the male lead character was super annoying and hard to listen too. I almost stopped listening twice.

REVIEW:
Nina Blackman is no stranger to the paranormal. Not after the wild ride she went on with her friend Marty. But waking up as a vampire is too much for Nina. She is determined to find a way to become human again. Now to find the vampire who turned her.

This was another great story from Ms. Cassidy. I enjoyed Nina’s crazy story. I will say that I didn’t care much for Nina and her smart mouth in The Accidental Werewolf (bk 1). But as Accidentally Dead went on I really grew to like Nina. There is a whole lot more to Nina then just her tough guy act and her smart-ass mouth. And Greg!! Greg is the perfect solution for Nina. Beyond perfect! I love their fights and make ups. I love that Nina always has one more questions. I can’t wait to see these two in future books.

I am looking forward to book 3 Wanda really needs a little HEA!!

I listened to this book on audio. Ms. Mitchell did a great job again bring the characters to life again. I often wonder what narrators think when they are narrating books. I would guess that Ms. Mitchell had a great time being Nina and all her foul mouth and easily angered persona.

Awesome book

Would you consider the audio edition of Accidentally Dead to be better than the print version?

No, I can "read" Nina way better than this narrator can. I have been waiting for these books on audio FOREVER and unfortunately the performance leaves a bit to be desired.

What did you like best about this story?

I love the work of Dakota Cassidy and Nina is a blast, her reactions to becoming a vampire leave a person laughing.

What does Meredith Mitchell bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Nada - She could have done a way better job

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed a lot as I do at all Dakota Cassidy "Accidental" books

Cute story, disappointing narration.

I enjoyed the story bit did not care for the narrator. Her performance, while not terrible, seems stiff and forced.
