Story
A diary, written in 1912 by a Lutheran Pastor is discovered within a wall. What it unveils is a slow massacre, a chain of events that go back to 217 Blackfeet dead in the snow. Told in transcribed interviews by a Blackfeet named Good Stab, who shares the narrative of his peculiar life over a series of confessional visits. This is an American Indian revenge story written by one of the new masters of horror, Stephen Graham Jones.

Enjoyable

I love how the author weaved a fictional story around real-life horrors, making the reading experience feel grounded in reality. The blend of fiction and truth kept me engaged, and when I stopped to reflect on the events in the book, I couldn’t help but feel a deep sense of disgust, horror, and sorrow.

Whelp, I will be honest. I purchased this book by accident. Stupidly, I thought it was something else. However, I still enjoyed it. It has a great story and fantastic characters.

When best-selling horror author Sam McGarver is invited to spend Halloween night in one of the country's most infamous haunted houses, he reluctantly agrees. At least he won't be alone; joining him are three other masters of the macabre, writers who have helped shape modern horror. But what begins as a simple publicity stunt will become a fight for survival. The entity they have awakened will follow them, torment them, threatening to make them a part of the bloody legacy of Kill Creek.

"Kill Creek" by Scott Thomas is a seriously creepy horror novel that pays tribute to legends like Stephen King and Shirley Jackson. If you're into classic horror vibes and modern scares, this one's a must-read!

Story
Five years ago, the US Space Force became a reality. And while those writing the checks took things very seriously, the other military branches did not. As a result, Space Force was populated by undesirables. My name is Captain Ethan Stone, a decorated member of SEAL Team Six turned Space Force "recruit". Flash forward five years and between tenses. President West is in office. Power has shifted. And Space Force is defunded. With just a handful of us still living on base, we find ourselves being evicted. But before all of us can leave, aliens invade.

Like an idiot I purchased this book several months ago and let it sit in my library. I continually found a different book to start. I was WRONG! This book was fantastic. It’s worth the money / audible credit. It will go down as one of the most entertaining books in 2019 for me.
