About this listen
Discover Space Force, the number one Audible best-selling novel by New York Times best seller Jeremy Robinson, and ask yourself, "Who thought this was a good idea?"
Five years ago, the US Space Force became a reality. And while those writing the checks took things very seriously, the other military branches did not. As a result, Space Force was populated by undesirables: men and women who made too many mistakes, didn't follow the rules, or...slept with the wrong general's daughter. Three times. On camera. It was a mistake, okay?
My name is Captain Ethan Stone, a decorated member of SEAL Team Six turned Space Force "recruit". While the powers-that-be attempted to make Space Force an embarrassment, they also sent some of the very best minds, fighters, and pilots to the program, because sometimes the best of us decide to take a stand against those same powers. Yeah, yeah. Not me. Though I seem to recall I was standing when...sorry. It's a distracting memory.
Flash forward five years and between tenses. President West is in office. Power has shifted. And Space Force is defunded. With just a handful of us still living on base, we find ourselves being evicted. But before all of us can leave, aliens invade. Really ugly ones, too. Super nasty. I don't think I could describe them here without getting the audiobook banned.
Anywho, using their advanced technology, they seal off Space Force Command behind a shrinking force field and kick off a battle royale to the death. Human vs. alien. To the victors goes the Earth. While my boy Frank Taylor and I throw down inside the force field, my main squeeze, First Lieutenant Jennifer Hale, leads an international strike team into freakin' space. It's nuts. Crazy action. Super funny, too, in like a Deadpool way, if that's your thing.
The only way to really know what went down is to snag a copy of this audiobook and listen to it for yourself...before it's too late. Or wait for the movie. There is going to be a movie, right?

A man. His ex-girlfriend's cat. A sadistic game show unlike anything in the universe: a dungeon crawl where survival depends on killing your prey in the most entertaining way possible. In a flash, every human-erected construction on Earth - from Buckingham Palace to the tiniest of sheds - collapses in a heap, sinking into the ground. The buildings and all the people inside have all been atomized and transformed into the dungeon: an 18-level labyrinth filled with traps, monsters, and loot.

Story
We were fighting on the wrong side of a war we couldn't win. And that was the good news. The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when humans only got killed by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

Story
Refuge, New Hampshire, is a small town. The kind found on postcards. Their biggest concern is the rowdy summertime revelers making their way up from Massachusetts and New York. And with most of the town's residents in neighboring Ashland, for the Fourth of July fireworks show, Refuge is quieter than usual. That is, until the Baptist church's bell starts ringing - on its own. The bell chimes faster and faster, reaching a frenetic pace, as though rung by the Devil himself. But the bell is just the beginning.

Hey! PUBG, internet culture, and d.i.c. jokes!
Do you like dialogue filled with jabs at internet culture? Do you play games like PUBG? This is for you!
Honestly, I have to respect J. Robinson's opportunistic endeavor to make a force of Space Farce. I'm not certain others capitalized off the political headlines. Kudos.
I know this is just reference comedy. It's meant to be non-serious and entertaining. One moment of breaking the forth wall made me chuckle. But honestly, this isn't for me. It feels like a chore to listen. I find myself quickly switching to music or a previous audible. Bad sign.
But again, others might enjoy this.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
On to the relevant stuff, If you're looking for a funny, politically savvy, and entertaining book about space and fending off an alien invasion this is it. This book kept a smile on my face through the whole thing and had enough third wall breaks to make Deadpool blush. I can't sell this high enough, pick it up, it's a great story and the narrator does a fantastic job. You'll enjoy all the way past the ending XD

Nice collection of twists and turns
The aliens have invaded and the United States Space Forces are there to take them on. Only one problem, Congress disbanded them yesterday. But true heroes all, they don't let minor things like that get in the way of their true destiny. To save the world.

Enjoyed the story, don’t listen to nattering nevó a
I liked the comical aspect and performance of the story. It’s meant to be tongue-in-cheek and not a serious space opera. A number of laughable, almost ROFL moments happen. I’m not a gamer.per se, but if you are I think having the gaming mindset helps understands he story line.
Please bring on the Sequel!!!!

"I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review."
I liked this book a lot more than I thought I would, I figured it would be a ham-fisted bashing of a certain political figure, but it was subtle enough to stay funny throughout the whole read without being over the top. Jeremy Robinson never disappoints.

Space Farce without the Space
Space Force is a humorous irreverent novel of a seriously messy bloody limited alien invasion. It is set in the very near parallel future, where the last president had managed to start a space force, and with their term(s?) ended, the new president, one straight out of Idiocracy, shuts the service down on the eve of an invasion...
The story is told from the viewpoint of two Space Force members, Jennifer Hale (not pronounced as you would think), and Ethan Stone, each with a different narrator (making chapter and character viewpoint swaps very easy to follow). They are separated at the outset, and both carry on dealing with the aliens.
I was lucky enough to get this book as a free copy for an honest review, and am glad for the opportunity, especially considering how many novels by Jeremy Robinson I have purchased in my collection.
The narration team did an excellent job. Jeffrey Kafer I think has a near record of number of audiobooks narrated. I'd have more books narrated by him than Jeremy Robinson has written! Emily Woo Zeller and Machelle Williams are narrators I'm not familiar with, but given the performance on this, I'd definitely listen to more with their narration.
