Story
St. Irenaeus, the bishop of Lyon, France, wrote Against Heresies in 180 AD. It is a collected work made up of five books, in which Irenaeus examines the many schools of Gnostic thought of his day, in addition to various heretical Christian sects. He contrasts these with the orthodoxy of Christianity. This version of the work contains the first three books, which, before the discovery of the Nag Hammadi Library, were the best surviving description of Gnosticism.

I'm not Catholic
Reviewed: 03-23-23
This work was recommended to me by my catholic and orthodox friends. I should have read this years ago. Many of the methods of gnostics are still in use today. Every Christian should read this to sharpen their knowledge. The enemy is a liar and Irenaus takes the time to describe and refute every aspect, in detail, the doctrine and beliefs of the wolves in sheep's clothing. This work is relevant today. The exposition of the similar shows you how they are different.

Lewis is a master and truly blessed as he works with the reader to come to a nearly complete understanding of who a Christian ought to be. I have read this book over and over again and each time I feel like I grasp a concept he writes about further. God is great and this book helps you understand His greatness and what he has in store for you if you obey him and let him mold you to be more like Himself.

Story
Considered by many to be Chesterton's greatest masterpiece, this audiobook declares his comprehensive view of world history as informed by the Incarnation. Retelling mankind's story from the very beginning, he shows how all human desires are fulfilled in the person of Christ and Christ's church. With his characteristic brilliance and irony, he argues that Christianity is not just a religion to stand beside other religions, for the fact of the Incarnation sets it apart.

Story
"Orthodoxy", published in 1908, is a book by author G. K. Chesterton, that has become a classic of Christian apologetics. In the book's preface Chesterton states the purpose is to "attempt an explanation, not of whether the Christian faith can be believed, but of how he personally has come to believe it." In it, Chesterton presents an original view of Christian religion. He sees it as the answer to natural human needs, the "answer to a riddle" in his own words.

Chesterton writes a good book about Christianity otherwise known as orthodoxy and he lays out the ways of the world and why they are wrong. His simple arguments, if you can remember them, will defeat most any opponent and hopefully lead them to Christ.

Story
Malcolm Muggeridge contends that Christendom is quite different from Christianity. Christ said, "My kingdom is very much a part of this world, and thus subject to decay and eventual ruin." In this book, Muggeridge explores the prevailing downfall of Christendom. However, contrary to our natural impulse to mourn this, Muggeridge makes a cogent and convincing argument that now is a time to rejoice.

Is privilege real or imagined? It's clear that issues of race and equality have come to the forefront in our nation's consciousness. Every week yet another incident involving racial tension splashes across headlines and dominates our news feeds. But it's not easy to unpack the origins of these tensions, and perhaps we wonder whether any of these issues really has anything to do with us. Ken Wytsma, founder of The Justice Conference, understands these questions.

Christian Theology but subtract God and Logic
Reviewed: 02-28-19
Poorly written book. Really, really rough to get through. Twisting Gods word as a contemporary political means to an end is ridiculous as ever. As he tries to dive in the history of racism he actually fails to dive into the history. Leaving out the linguistic origins of the word as well as the man who coined the word. He only scratches the surface in a very elementary way. he starts off by saying the publishers were looking for someone with his credentials to try and corrupt good Christian thought and understanding of race. This Zionist group quickly reveals themselves.

Story
During the first three decades of the 20th century, eugenics, the scientific control of human breeding, was a popular cause within enlightened and progressive segments of the English-speaking world. This prophetic volume counters the intellectual nihilism of Nietzsche, while simultaneously rebuking Western notions of progress - biological or otherwise. Chesterton expands his criticism of eugenics into what he calls "a more general criticism of the modern craze for scientific officialism and strict social organization."

this book provides so much insight I can hardly believe it was written almost one hundred years ago. Much like Mein Kampf, the writing slices away at modernity with a double edged sword. As America grows and swells, the people are groaning for a savior. Hopefully this book can help lead someone to Christ because it draws heavily from truths in the Bible.
