In, "What's God Really Like", S.J. Hill has taken the well worth time to explore and expound on the goodness and greatness of God. Many times we don't see past our own lives and surroundings. As the Psalmist David said, "Come, magnify the Lord with me, let us exalt His name together." While listening to this audiobook I joined in with the author in exalting the Lord and my own religious ideas as well as my reluctant acceptance of God's goodness were countered with a continuous wave like exaltation of God, His love, His goodness namely what God is really like.

Lesser joys, lesser pleasures in the form of many of the sins we and others choose or struggle with were explained in a way that I never heard expounded like S.J. Hill has put forth in this book. The answer isn't gritting our teeth to obtain a holiness that is anemic in its understanding but to see that God invites us into true joy, true pleasure and a fulfillment in Him that we were designed for which eclipses all of our lesser lovers or besetting sins. God truly is great and when we find our full satisfaction in Him then that is when we encounter true holiness.

God is beautiful and to see Him as such will soften the hardness of heart and religious mind. It will empower us to embrace Him and not let go, actually to enter His embrace and not leave it for something lesser.

I highly recommend this audiobook and to listen to it multiple times as a refreshing and renewing of the mind.

This book is written by an author who has lived its content. The understanding that Garrett brings forth is by way of experience but is rooted in the text of Scripture. The message in One Bloody Road is what is needed by so many of us today who want to be called a disciple of Christ. Arousing from the slumber of American society with its Christian sublet unto the way of the Master Jesus who has shown us the path we are to walk no matter where we find ourselves in this world. Foundational and rooted in the heart of God J.G. Garrett brings us to a place of soul searching and hope found in the love of Christ and the cross of Christ.
The narrator did a great job and really brought the content across in a personable and effective way.

A must read / listen to title.

If you could sum up Nine Lies People Believe About Speaking in Tongues in three words, what would they be?

Accessible, Personal, Thorough

What was one of the most memorable moments of Nine Lies People Believe About Speaking in Tongues?

9 Lies People Believe about Speaking in Tongues is accessible to anyone from any background, especially those who are from a non-charismatic background and want to learn more about the gift of tongues. Steve is such a person who came from that background. It was very interesting to say the least to read about his journey.

Which scene was your favorite?

Now this book is not just simply someone telling about their journey into the things of the Holy Spirit it is much much more than that. He goes into scripture explaining very soundly why the gift of tongues is given to the body of Christ and how and why it is available to every believer. He goes into depth on the importance of this gift and how it is a blessing to both the believer personally and the Church as a whole.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

A couple sittings is good or while driving.

Any additional comments?

I highly recommend this book to every believer non-charismatic and charismatic alike. There are very helpful insights that I learned and was greatly encouraged in my fellowship with Christ through this book. There are also some great resource links in the back.
