Rambles a bit towards a rushed ending
Reviewed: 04-18-23
I enjoyed the book, but felt that it rambled a bit too much. I got to the end and was like "ummm did I accidentally skip a chapter?"
Still recommend, but sadly did not meet expectations.
The narrator totally nailed it though.

Thank you Audible for redoing this with a narrator that doesn't suck! Narrator... please tone down the yelling... painful in headphones. :) she did an amazing job

Story
There’s more to the swamplands than meets the teeth. In this supernatural tale of magic and mysticism, Henry Lemarchand grew up in Philadelphia knowing very little of his family—his father disappeared when he was young, leaving behind only a strange pouch of animal teeth. When he is sent to the Louisiana bayou to spend the summer with his eccentric uncle and cousin in their decaying ancestral mansion, Henry learns about his family’s supernatural legacy.

Book ends... First words: "is there a book two?"

This is a well written, exciting and entertaining book. Both myself and my son enjoyed it rather a lot. Well worth your time and for us the perfect road-trip listen!
Narrator did a very good job and was a pleasure to listen to.
