Exceptionally performed

Even though I’ve read the entire series many times, I found Rosamund Pike’s rendition of The Eye of the World absolutely enchanting. She manages to inject uniqueness to each character without sounding contrived. I found myself completely lost in another world because of her storytelling. My only complaint is that I don’t know if she’ll be doing the rest of the series. Please please please make it happen!

Masterful narration gives new life to a classic

This new narration gives EOTW the weight and gravitas it deserves. It's like stepping into this world again for the first time. Like most people, I am a fan of the originals and am happy to have both. It's wonderful to hear a new interpretation, and it's a breathtaking performance. It's asking a lot but I really hope she does the whole series. Wow!

Glorious!

Rosamund Pike's performance is epic. This is an example of what a master can achieve in this art form. Please honor this story by putting the rest of the series into her capable hands.

Big Narration Upgrade

Michael Kramer's narration doesn't capture the weight of what he's reading. He sounds kind of apathetic. Rosamund Pike is much better at rendering the glory and gravity the story deserves. I wish the rest of the series was available from this masterful narrator.

The yelling though...

I have to be honest, I've read all the books but wanted to read them again after watching the first season and decided to try it on audible. When she is just reading, it's great, she has a very nice reading voice... but the voices, and the yelling... SUPER annoying! I had a really hard time listening to this because of that.

Great Story, Volume Control very disappointing

Fantastic story. I loved the book. I definitely recommend. There is one problem however. The narrator YELLS anytime the characters are yelling, which makes volume control impossible.

It's not Kramer/Reading, but it's still EotW

If you want to listen to EotW, get the Kramer/Reading narration. Pike's diction was precise and her pronunciation mostly correct, but her narration doesn't give characters distinct voices in the manner of Kramer and Reading. I appreciate that she read the source material and put this together to accompany the release of the show, but Kramer/Reading are masters of their craft. I preferred their narration to Pike's.

That said, Wheel of Time is an excellent fantasy series. Given how good the source material is, this was always going to be a wonderful audiobook.

Yes!! This is the narrator I needed!!

Rosamund Pike's narration is AMAZING!!! I had the version narrated by Michael Kramer and Kate Reading. For me, Michael Kramer read in a way that was difficult to hold my attention and I have ADHD. Female narrators are less likely to fall into the drone of backround noise and constant urban vibrations like vehicles and trains. So, I bought this version. Let me tell you! Rosamund Pike's narration made me never want to stop listening!

Loved It

Rosamund Pike gave the book a smooth entertaining read. The voice of each character came alive. I had to force myself to stop listening to it so I could go to bed. I really hope she does the other books because I can’t listen to the old recorded ones now that I have lived in her vision of the story.
