Story
Want to know what Vietnam was really like? From a Marine sniper in Hue, to a medevac dust-off pilot going into a hot LZ, Navy Corpsmen, A-6 pilots taking out bridges and SAM sites in North Vietnam, a nurse on the USS Repose, combat medics deep in the jungle, machine gunners in I-Corps, mechanics working on the rolling deck of a big carrier on Yankee Station, squad leaders on infantry sweeps in “the Arizona Territory”, truck convoys under fire, riverine patrol boats in the Delta, and much more....

Significant and important individual accounts ruined by cartoonish fake accents

Given a second chance, I’d read a kindle version instead of listening to this plethora of silly accents

Kennedy's Last Days is a gripping account of the events leading up to the most notorious crime of the 20th century. Adapted from Bill O’Reilly’s best-selling historical thriller, Killing Kennedy, this audiobook will have young listeners - and grown-ups too - hooked on this fascinating and colorful period of history. In the first term of his presidency, as the Cold War escalates, John F. Kennedy struggles to contain the growth of Communism while dealing with the many other complexities facing him as president of the United States.

This is a three hour listen. Not worth what Audible/Amazon charges. EXTREMELY disappointing and definitely a RIPOFF

Story
Few novels have had as profound an impact on American culture as On the Road. Pulsating with the rhythms of 1950s underground America, jazz, sex, illicit drugs, and the mystery and promise of the open road, Kerouac’s classic novel of freedom and longing defined what it meant to be “beat” and has inspired generations of writers, musicians, artists, poets, and seekers who cite their discovery of the book as the event that “set them free”.

Failure

What disappointed you about On the Road?
Audible could not keep track of my reading locations. Not even when I manually added bookmarks. This is not the only book that Audible has trouble keeping track of.
What other book might you compare On the Road to and why?
The Sun Also Rises, because of similarities "capturing the pulse and mood of their generations."
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Will Patton?
Will Patton was just about perfect.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
The book and narrator are both fine. It's Audible that turned Kerouac's work into a flop.
