Story

I love the twists that the story takes

Ay some parts is really “predictable” and some of the things really hard to believe how lucky she is to find such great help and practically being adopted by a community, however is a good story. I only could not stand the voice of the little girl!

Story

Although in the beginning it was a bit complicated to follow the story, too many names and historic events to keep track of, the narrator gives each character a unique voice and story, you emphasize with each one and soon start to recognizing their own personality through the story. It’s a great book, incredible described, amazing storytelling!

Story
Nadia Murad was born and raised in Kocho, a small village of farmers and shepherds in Northern Iraq. A member of the Yazidi community, she and her brothers and sisters lived a quiet life. Nadia had dreams of becoming a history teacher or opening her own beauty salon. On August 15, 2014, when Nadia was just 21 years old, this life ended. Islamic State militants massacred the people of her village, executing men who refused to convert to Islam and women too old to become sex slaves.

Incredible this story occurred 10 years ago, if amazed me all the horrors this girl endured in the middle of civilization and nobody did anything to help. It is a story of faith, resilience and the incredible strength of a girl who lived through hell and survive to make a difference in human right fights afterwards
