I went to camp in the Adirondacks in the 70s so it was fun to relive that. I enjoyed it a lot.

Story was good but narration not.

I like the story but the narrator for Mickey Haller was channeling Batman. Very choppy and distracting with every raspy emphasized He/She said. Titus Weller was great as usual doing Bosch.

Bad narrator

I tried to get through this book but the narration was so bad I couldn’t get even halfway through. The story was ok but not realistic on the portrayal of the FBI. I think reading the book myself I would like the story without the distraction of the reader. She sounds like she’s reading a children’s book.

Story
When John Heppel, a visiting writer to Lochdubh, first proposes forming a writers' circle, the idea is met with much enthusiasm from local residents. However, once the classes get underway, attendance quickly falters due to one undeniable fact: John Heppel is a long-winded, consummate bore. But is dullness a motive for murder? Hamish Macbeth wouldn't ordinarily think so. So when Heppel is found dead, Hamish begins looking for deeper meaning in the writer's stories.

Interesting story but poor narration
Reviewed: 09-18-23
I wish this was narrated by the reader Shaun Grindall as the previous early books. With this narrator I have trouble figuring out which characters are saying what. They all sound the same and he doesn’t add the humor like Shaun did.

Nate tries to elude her crafty seductions, but consents to keep an eye on their estate in the Hollywood Hills while they're away.

Story
For his victims, for their families and for the investigators tasked with finding him, the senselessness and brutality of the Golden State Killer's acts were matched only by the powerlessness they felt at failing to uncover his identity. Then, on April 24, 2018, authorities arrested 72-year-old Joseph James DeAngelo at his home in Citrus Heights, Calif., based on DNA evidence linked to the crimes. Amazingly, it seemed, evil finally had a name. Please note: This work contains descriptions of violent crime and sexual assault and may not be suitable for all listeners.
