Story
Jim Hawkins, a young cabin boy battles the pirate Long John Silver for a buried treasure. One of the most frequently dramatized novels of all time. The influence of Treasure Island on popular perceptions of pirates is enormous, including treasure maps marked with an "X", schooners, the Black Spot, tropical islands, and one-legged seamen carrying parrots on their shoulders.

This was an enjoyable telling of this classic. I most enjoyed the reader's ability to change his voice and inflection when representing the different characters.

I thought the information was thought provoking but doctor Chopra mentions several times about printed supplemental materials accompanying the audio program which are not available making some of the topics he discusses impossible to pursue any further.

Disappointing
Reviewed: 06-08-17
I found this fifth book to be extremely disappointing. My reasons are that much too much time was spent on histories and minor characters that I felt had little or nothing to do with the overall plot of the previous books. If this had not been an audio version of the book I probably would've put it down very early on because I found it to be boring. I stayed with it in the hopes that something more of the major plot would be revealed and something more of the major characters but even at the very end I was disappointed.

Harry Potter has never even heard of Hogwarts when the letters start dropping on the doormat at number four, Privet Drive. Addressed in green ink on yellowish parchment with a purple seal, they are swiftly confiscated by his grisly aunt and uncle. Then, on Harry's eleventh birthday, a great beetle-eyed giant of a man called Rubeus Hagrid bursts in with some astonishing news: Harry Potter is a wizard, and he has a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. An incredible adventure is about to begin!

Story
Becoming Magic is book one of a complete course in becoming creator of your own exceptional life. In this book, I outline the exact steps which enabled me to move my own life from one of poverty and drudgery, to one of previously unimaginable wealth, purpose and joy. But Magic? I do hope you are joking! That's what I would have said, five or ten years ago. I once despised all things 'New-Age'; all these spiritual types and their airy-fairy views, their bad science and their irrational beliefs.

The early "New Age" philosophy of New Thought, which was wildly popular at the turn of the 20th century, owes much of its emphasis on the concept of "mind over matter" to the works of Thomas Troward. This two-in-one volume brings together two of Troward's celebrated books on "mental science".
