Story
Knowledge is power. That would be the motto of Lander University, had it not been snatched up and used to death by others long before the school was founded. For while Lander offers a full range of courses to nearly all students, it also offers a small number of specialty classes to a very select few. Lander is home to the Hero Certification Program, a curriculum designed to develop students with superhuman capabilities, commonly known as Supers, into official Heroes.

Story
The goblin invasion is on...and a wizard's work is never done! After facing a hopeless siege, an implacable foe, and an impossible escape, you would think that Minalan the Spellmonger would be able to rest - but the armies of the undead goblin shaman Shereul (known as the Dead God to his human victims) are rolling over the Western reaches of the rustic Duchy of Alshar and is headed toward the heart of the Duchy of Castal. Thousands are fleeing for their lives as hordes of goblins pour out of Boval Vale and devastate the rugged fiefs of the Alshari Wilderlands.

Raise an army? Challenge the censorate, who police mages, and the gervani/goblins?
With the power of witch stones it’s possible, if they can hide their plans magically and through mundane means. Fighting an undead god was never going to be easy, an army is collecting as skirmishes grow throughout the lands.
A strong will, a strong back, mages with witch stones and as many troops as he can get against the horde that out numbers them and has been pillaging, killing and kidnapping humans at the behest of their dead god.

Story
Despite his youth, Declan Idrys knows of the evils of the world. He knows of the bastards and brigands who plague the King's lands, of the monsters skulking in the wooded depths of the realm. Together with his companion, Ryn - a beast of rather peculiar talent - he has spent the last decade of his life beneath the bloody banners of a half-dozen mercenary guilds, hunting precisely such festering wickedness within the borders of Viridian.

Another great title narrated by Nick Podel, and a great collaboration between Bryce and Luke!
The story slowly broadens as the world conflict begins and we learn this is a story that started over 700 years ago. And throughout the story we are reminded of the long history and the result of the victors writing the histories as well. Treachery seven hundred years ago brought upon the world the current threat, and it may be one that only grows over time and with each death.
A young man, Declan, unknowingly carries the blood of kings, whatever that is, and adventures with a strange horse companion, Ryn, that can become a hawk or wolf as well. This is the just the barest glint of the truth of these two mercenary adventurers, they are much more than they seem and only one of them knows the actual truth... and it is not the young man.
I hope you enjoy this as much as I did, I’m off to find the next book and follow Declan, Ryn and their companions as they struggle to survive a long thought dead queens revenge upon the world

Story
Minalan gave up a promising career as a professional warmage to live the quiet life of a village spellmonger in the remote mountain valley of Boval. It was a peaceful, beautiful little fief, far from the dangerous feudal petty squabbles of the Five Duchies, on the world of Callidore. There were cows. Lots of cows. And cheese. For six months things went well: He found a quaint little shop, he befriended the local lord, the village folk loved him, he found a sharp young apprentice to help out, and, best yet, he met a comely young widow with the prettiest eyes.

Riveting and full of ups and downs in a simple peasant mage’s life
Reviewed: 02-25-20
A likable character, to me at least, drives the story along until the true future challenge arrives! The Gervani god has returned, or has he?
A growing darkness comes for the vale he’s made his home in, and he will do all he can to survive and save as many of his people as he can. Minelin isn’t a regular peasant with magical power and training, who just wants a quiet life after years at war in the military. It’s been years but fate or the gods aren’t ready for him to have a nice calm life, and his story is only truly beginning and the struggles ahead will challenge him to his core, from the looks of things...

I really enjoyed the MC’s desire to craft and adventure as well as the reality of all that gear being trashed or damaged heavily during one days adventuring. Learning the rules of Ascend Online, discovering and expanding your options to further your class goals, experiencing the pain, etc make for a wild first dive!
I’m looking forward to seeing where our somewhat cursed? MC will take his play style now!

What is it like for a small flap-eared goblin herbalist to play the role of the Dark Sovereign, the main antagonist for Boundless Realm's hundreds of millions of players? What is it like to find one's self the standard bearer for an army of man-eating giants, cyclops, skeletons, ghosts, and other hellspawn, who don't give a damn about their modest little ruler? Our hero didn't desire such an unenviable fate, but there is no way back now. But the longer he plays, the better he understands that he is just a pawn in someone else's game.

There were some chapters that I wished were longer just to enjoy the depth of the world, as well as better understand the increasing speed of events. However the big reveal on that was a surprise! And now, he earns money (and pretty good money, at that) just for doing what he loves - playing a beautiful and realistic computer game. But he isn't some typical run-of-the-mill player, like the millions of others. Timothy is truly capable and talented, and stands out from the crowd. In fact, the faceless masses consider him far too lucky and successful.

The brother-sister duo’s adventures through two worlds are neither fair nor nor routine. Nearly every positive event is balanced by something tough to swallow or unpleasant at best. I was so into the story that I only wish there was more depth and words for the adventures at sea and beyond!
The real world proves a rocky road to stability and more importantly, safety. But not without an unexpected tragedy that nearly ends Timothy’s time in Boundless Realms. Eagerly ready to dive into the next arc of the story.

I love the real world story driving him to care for and protect his sister. I’m enjoying the split requirements of his job to play what appears to be a handicapped build for the average player, and make it interesting while still finding bugs as a secondary bonus income.
I will say that I’d expect less bugs in a game as advanced as they make it sound, but it’s also occurring in a previously uninteresting area that appears to have a lot of potential.
I am planning to start the next book now!
