I have really enjoyed this series and this book really brings that enjoyment home..

The author of this book either has experience with losing somebody to a traumatic brain injury, or was amazing at her research. The narrator brought a true sense of humanity to the highly emotional reality of that situation. They combined to provide a real window the first hand experience of a trauma like this.

I have first hand experience and this book felt more like a memory than a story. I do not know if it is possible to give greater praise to an author and a narrator then to say that this was real.

Good YA tale, but the narrator took away from the story

The story was along the same line as the paper magician and helps close the tale of Bennett while introducing a few new characters. However, the narrator had a tendency to finish her phrases with odd inflections and accents. Instead of the first person feel of the first three books, this gave the feeling of being read to in an elementary school classroom where she is trying to keep children's interest.

It was complex and sometimes surprising adventure into a past filled with pain and mistakes. I will say that the author doesn't let realism get in the way of a good story, but I think we really read for the story, don't we? we? And she does tell a good one....

A fun story clean enough to listen to with your kids but deep enough to keep you interested. The comedy was will distributed and wonderful.

I really loved the insecure personalities and the way that they mature.

it would make a solid travel listen, but we listened as a couple and loved the surprises. So much laughter!!!

This book has plenty of great reviews, so I will just say I agree. And I kind of wish that there were more adventures for these characters.

There is a fourth book, but it appears to be a different plot line and a different narrator. :( But, I guess that all good things must end!

This entire series has been great, but this installment really added some solid depth. This author has quite a grand vision and is really letting it show. The narration is spot on, she can really bring out the life in each of the characters!

Until the next book, I will be waiting!!!

This series was great. It had a heroine who was flawed but continued to try to do the right thing and fought with outrageous amounts of spunk. The author was extremely imaginative and really told a great story. The narrator tied it all together and brought it to life.

It is sad that in the intervening 9 years since this was published, no additional installments have been forthcoming.

The series is a light romantic thriller That deals a lot with subjects of redemption, resolution and forgiveness. The author weaves complex emotional and personal tales into easy reading thrilling plots.

The narrator always brings the characters to life and ties the story together. Without her grasp of the human condition and her ability to bring both pain and joy to life, I don't think this series would be anywhere near as good as it is.

It was a great way to wrap up both series, even if I wish there to be more. This is one of those complex stories where so many of the characters are so broken and honestly so flawed but they just continue putting one foot in front of the other and finding a way forward.

The narrators are very different and rightfully so because the characters are very different. Will say that in the scenes that had both characters it was a bit disconcerting to have Scarlet narrated by Kate and or Lex narrated by Amy. I personally think the final product would have been better had they co-narrated the combined and scenes so each character would maintain a consistent narration voice. but that doesn't take away from the performance at all. it only makes you have to rewind and listen again occasionally to figure out who's actually talking.

Listened to this as a couple and it was a good story about loss, trauma, and moving forward. It was also written with a wide enough set of characters to show many perspectives on the same events and the vast variety of reasons why so many don't want to face their own truths.

We love the narrator, she brings the emotion of each character to life and helps the listeners really feel each part of the story from each unique perspective. It is one of those stories where no one is really innocent, but the end fits.
