Story
It is one of the most well-known and well-loved fantasy epics of the twentieth century: the story of Elric, emperor of the dying kingdom of Melniboné. For a hundred centuries the Melnibonéans have ruled from the Dragon Isle of Imrryr. Now, after years of corruption and decadence, Elric’s amoral cousin Prince Yyrkoon, the brother of his beloved Cymoril, sets his eyes on the Ruby Throne. Elric must face his treacherous cousin not as a warrior but as a sorcerer king once again in league with the ancient gods of Melniboné, the Chaos Lords, and thus sealing his inexorable fate.

Classic character with unpleasant narration
Reviewed: 07-08-25
This is one of my favorite characters. You kind of have to start here, but keep in mind the story wasn't written in the order that you'll listen to them. The second one is kind of boring and the unnecessary use of accents and female voices in the narration is very cringe. It's worth it in the long run. Keep going.

The reading has mispronunciations and issues, but it's ok. It's hard to take somebody who believes Wicca is ancient religion seriously. Gerald Gardner was an important historical figure in starting a modern religion, just like L Ron Hubbard or whatever. Hubbard could just as easily say his religion is older, because it involves Lord Xenu before humanity

I've been studying this subject extremely in depth and saw this book. It's not a topic you see in nonfiction too often, but you never see a novel. Very well written and generally historically accurate, as far as a novel can be. Very impressive. I'll be reading his other books.

Self hatred

I'm not Jewish or Christian. Generally I'm agnostic, but I've been studying Jewish history and Abrahamic religion as a hobby. This is a self hating Jewish person saying they deserve to suffer, because they aren't good enough. This is a running theme in Jewish history. Any time things go horribly wrong, the most debout Jews say it's because they weren't good enough. I'm sure Palestinian lobbyists will love it.

Story
On May 5, 1981, three rebellious members of New York's Bonanno crime family were gunned down in a Brooklyn social club. One of the gunmen was Vito Rizzuto, a man who would rise to the top of the underworld in Canada and then expand his reign across continents to become a global superboss. The Sixth Family, now revised and updated, reveals the hidden history of the rise of the Rizzuto clan, the alliances it forged around the world, and the bloody events that led to charges against Vito Rizzuto in the United States and Italy for racketeering and corruption.

So it's alright. A few minor errors, but generally seems accurate, but it's probably mostly about the Bonanno family. it's definitely more any the Bonanno connection with the Sicilian families more than it is about Canada. Because of this, it's overly long. The narration is not great, but I've heard worse. At least he doesn't do cliche accents. If you have the time, is prob worth it.

How was it constructed with such precision and with such massive stone blocks? When was it built, and how did the builders develop the science, mathematics, and organizational prowess to succeed at such an incredible undertaking?
