Story
Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

It's good but not as good as The Martian
Reviewed: 06-07-18
I have nothing to say that hasn't already been said about this book. The details about the city on the moon, it's economy, history, and structure are really great. The story is entertaining. The main character is a lot like Mark Watney. It's just not as good as The Martian. It's still a fun ride. BTW, Rosario Dawson was awesome. She totally pulled off the female Mark Watney thing.

Story
Thousands of years ago, artifacts of the early space age were lost to rising oceans and widespread turmoil. Garnett Baylee devoted his life to finding them, only to give up hope. Then, in the wake of his death, one was found in his home, raising tantalizing questions. Had he succeeded after all? Why had he kept it a secret? And where is the rest of the Apollo cache? Antiquities dealer Alex Benedict and his pilot, Chase Kolpath, have gone to Earth to learn the truth.

Another good Alex Benedict yarn
Reviewed: 06-07-18
I've read all of the Alex Benedict series. They're formulaic, but I really do enjoy them. This one is no different with one exception: in each of the stories Alex and Chase get over their heads investigating something and have to avoid some kind of life threatening situation, but not in this one. Not sure why and it doesn't detract at all from the story - just noticing... It's entertaining, although not super suspenseful.

Story
The Galahad, a faster-than-light spacecraft, carries 50 scientists and engineers on a mission to prepare Kepler 452b, Earth's nearest habitable neighbor at 1400 light years away. With Earth no longer habitable and the Mars colony slowly failing, they are humanity's best hope. After 10 years in a failed cryogenic bed - body asleep, mind awake - William Chanokh's torture comes to an end as the fog clears, the hatch opens, and his friend and fellow hacker, Tom, greets him...by stabbing a screwdriver into his heart. This is the first time William dies.

Love RC Bray but not this book
Reviewed: 06-07-18
I've started choosing books based on the narrator, and Rob Bray is one of my faves. He never disappoints. But I wasn't a fan of this book. After the events described in the liner notes happen (which is immediate), I was just kind of not interested. The plot twists were predictable and I didn't feel much affinity for the characters. The sciencey stuff wasn't compelling or innovative. I guess if you like reading about creative ways someone with super healing can be hurt or killed, you might enjoy it.
