Story
After Tova Sullivan’s husband died, she began working the night shift at the Sowell Bay Aquarium, mopping floors and tidying up. Keeping busy has always helped her cope, which she’s been doing since her eighteen-year-old son, Erik, mysteriously vanished on a boat in Puget Sound over thirty years ago. Tova becomes acquainted with curmudgeonly Marcellus, a giant Pacific octopus living at the aquarium. Marcellus knows more than anyone can imagine but wouldn’t dream of lifting one of his eight arms for his human captors—until he forms a remarkable friendship with Tova.

Once I pick the book back up again after several months, I really got into it. I was rather surprised that I didn’t like it right away as I have loved all of Graham Norton‘s other novels. This one certainly lives up to my expectations once I got into it very well done very well read highly recommend.

Way too repetitive
Reviewed: 06-09-23
I wasn’t a fan of the way the book was read. Admittedly, that didn’t help the person who is reading sounded like the mechanical voice used on Instagram I think once you’ve gone through the first couple chapters, you kind of get the idea the repetitiveness of going over the letters again, and again and again, and the fact that the book was super preachy, I am a Catholic and it was way too much God for me over and over and over slapping you in the face.
