Story
After my nightmarish past, starting fresh should be a dream come true. But when my father’s death leaves me on the run, I have no choice but to seek shelter with the only family I have left: An uncle I’ve never even met. My uncle has a bad attitude and pack of friends that remind me far too much of the toxic life I left behind. Cruel, sexy Kai Stone is the worst of them. A monster who thrives off the mayhem and chaos that surround him. But no matter how hard I fight it, something about him tugs at my very soul. The worst part is, I have a secret.

Shifter romance
Reviewed: 01-22-22
I really enjoyed the narration for this story, I'll definitely listen to future audiobooks narrated by Sarah Puckett.
The story was pretty good, it was a bit insta-love which I tend to have a love hate relationship ship with. It's new adult so there's a bit of angst to the characters but not annoying like in YA. The main character is strong despite all she's been through and doesn't become the most badass thing to grace the earth immediately after finding out she's likely a shifter which was nice.
There was a couple parts that I saw coming from a mile away but that was the only thing that I didn't like. I will continue the series.

Story
I was raised on tales of magic, in a small town reputed to be the birthplace of French witchcraft. Did I believe all the stories I heard? Absolutely not. I mean, if magic existed, Maman wouldn't have died, and Papa wouldn't be stuck in a wheelchair, right? Wrong. The night Slate Ardoin waltzes into my life, wearing a ring he stole from my mother's grave, I call him a monster. But then, I meet real ones, and Slate, well...he becomes something else to me. Something frustrating to live with, but impossible to live without. Something I will fight for, no matter the cost.

I'm a fan of Olivia Wildenstein's writing especially when it involves the romances she creates. Slate and Cadence are obviously the main and more important characters, but the rest of the mains: Gaelle, Adrian, Bastian, and Alma are definitely important and all got their own personalities. When casts of characters get this big I often find that some of the characters are basically background noise that I never get to know, but that was definitely not the case with this book.
This book was full of action and kept me listening the entire time. It has a slow start as the world is built and the story slowly begins, but once you get past that it is hard to stop.
Holly Fielding also narrated Feather by Olivia Wildenstein which I adored. She has a very sweet voice and sounds like an ingenue which is perfect for Cadence's character as well.
Thomas Locklear's voice was also very fitting for Slate.

Story
I didn't mean to steal the Bloodstone from the De Morel's crypt. Scratch that, I did mean to steal it. Until I realized it was a curse-magnet that only comes off if I, along with a jolly trio, successfully defeat four curses. If any of us fail, I'm dead. I've never been a glass half-empty sort of person, but my glass looks in dire need of a refill right about now. The only highlight of this wicked treasure hunt: feisty, entitled Cadence de Morel.

Story
Founded two centuries ago by a powerful tribe of Gottwa Indians, Rowan was a quiet town, so quiet that I fled after graduation. Staying away was the plan, but Mom died suddenly. Dad said she suffered a stroke after she dug up one of the ancient graves in our backyard, which happens to be the town cemetery. Creepy, I know. Creepier still, there was no corpse inside the old coffin, only fresh rose petals. As we made preparations for Mom's burial, new people began arriving in Rowan, unnervingly handsome and odd people.

Thank you to the author for the review audiobook copy!
I liked the narrator, I really think that the voice was perfect for Catori. The narrator did a good job showing emotion as well.
I liked the story but there were a few points that I just rolled my eyes. Catori tends to get out of sticky situations far too easily. And I just know that some of them cause little plotholes. Her lies and fabrications to her dad and other adults were believed WAY too easily. However, it wasn't enough to make me dislike the book. I will be continuing the series.

I received an audiobook from the exchange for a review.
This book started out really strong, but I wouldn't consider it for "mature" young adults. More like just regular young adults. The pacing was a bit slow for my liking. And I just never really fully connected to the story or the characters. I don't know if it was because of my mood or the book. The narrator did a good job though! Just enough emotion in the spots it was required.

I've spent my entire life running from my past and staying out of trouble. That's how I've kept alive ever since my parents were killed by the Black Dragon, who's ruled the world under her oppressive talons for as long as anyone can remember. But it's hard to keep a low profile when four handsome strangers turn up in your village claiming you're destined to save the world. According to them, they've been chosen by the gods to become elemental dragons--and I'm their mate.

Interesting Story

This was the first reverse harem story I've ever read or listened to. I went expecting it to be super smutty and cringy but it wasn't. I feel like most people would prefer these type stories to be super smutty but I'll pass on that. There was a decent amount of story development although I would've liked a bit more. And I get that she's supposed to be mated to all 4 guys, but I would've liked a little bit more development into each individual relationship, but especially her relationship with the fire dragon.
The narration was mostly pretty good but sounded robotic and clunky a few times.

It was supposed to be a quick mission. The only thing quick about it was how rapidly I failed. With only a month left to earn her missing feathers, 19-year-old Leigh embarks on a trip to Paris to meet her newest project, 25-year-old Jarod Adler, leader of the Parisian Mafia and the worst kind of sinner...a Triple. If Leigh can get Jarod to accomplish a single act of kindness, she stands to win 100 feathers, more than enough to complete her wings and ascend to Elysium, the land of angels.

This book was absolutely beautiful. Leigh is basically an angel in training and takes an a sinner named Jarod to try to help earn her wings, instead she falls in love. But of course they're from different worlds. This was a beautiful Romeo and Juliet retelling and despite knowing what was coming I shed a few tears.
I listened to an audiobook gifted to me by the author and at first I was not the biggest fan of the narrator, Holly Fielding but after I learned how innocent Leigh's character was her voice actually fit really well. I definitely recommend this audiobook

I love Audrey Grey's writing and this one was a really quick and fun audiobook for me. This book is geared more towards the upper YA (or adults who like YA). It's also a bit of an Enemies to Lovers which I love!

A great Beauty and the Beast retelling
Reviewed: 05-02-20
Thank you to the author for the review copy of the audiobook.
It's always so relaxing to me to read a fairy tale retelling. This book is a Beauty and the Beast retelling. It's nice knowing the plot but not knowing just what the twist is. This retelling stays very true to the original plot with the same major points, but with a interesting twist on the curse. How our "Beauty" discoversthrow to break the curse was also a nice twist. Also, it was great to see the library involved and the characters actually reading the books in it mentioned.
