About this listen

”Forbidden romance at its sexiest!” - DANIELLE L. JENSEN, author of The Bridge Kingdom

It was supposed to be a quick mission. The only thing quick about it was how rapidly I failed. With only a month left to earn her missing feathers, twenty-year-old Leigh embarks on a trip to Paris to meet her newest project, twenty-five-year-old Jarod Adler, leader of the Parisian Mafia and the worst kind of sinner . . . a Triple.

If Leigh can get Jarod to accomplish a single act of kindness, she stands to win 100 feathers, more than enough to complete her wings and ascend to Elysium, the land of angels. What she doesn’t count on is Jarod's dark charm costing her feathers. She’s dead set on saving him, and he’s dead set on destroying her. Until he realizes destroying her wings is also destroying her heart. A heart he longs to hear beat only for him.

Fans of dark supernatural romance will devour this modern ROMEO & JULIET retelling today.

*Warning: FEATHER deals with dark topics, such as suicide, and contains graphic sex.

Slow build

This story took a while to get to what I felt was the heart of the story. Once it got there, it was much better, but I had a hard time at first with the MC, Leigh. She seems very self absorbed, naive, and aloof. She loves being an angel and she thinks she is doing good while earning her feathers so how could she not be important for humans. But she also thinks some of the rules of her kind are too strict, and when one of the ruling seraph announces he’s looking for a wife, and then shows interest in her, she decides to try and complete her wings so she can be considered an option. She chooses to help a triple, whose score is triple digits because they’ve don’t so many bad things, and it will earn her enough feathers to complete her wings. This leads us to Jared. It takes a long time for us to see him as anything more than a complete ass, only concerned with his mob-style empire. Once they both start learning more about misconceptions and themselves, they finally become more interesting characters. The ending is rough, but there’s a dangling thread in the epilogue, and I’m expecting the next book will address it, hopefully in a satisfactory way. The nice thing is that there isn’t manufactured drama just for the sake of drama. The events that unfold make sense, and even some things I was expecting to happen to add to the tension didn’t happen, which was good. The book is about testing boundaries and opening up to new and different things and people. In the end, it’s clear that the angels and sinners both have their good and bad sides, no one is perfectly good or perfectly bad.

I received this audiobook free in exchange for my fair and honest review.

Great Start!!

The narrator did a great job!! She was able to give life to all the characters and emotions as if it were multiple people!!

This was a great first in series. Sometimes fantasy can be tedious with the world building in the first book. But I think the author did an amazing job creating a world and giving us plot and depth to be thoroughly entertained. Excited to jump into book2

overall ok

the narration wasn't my favorite honestly I struggled every time she did the male voice. the story was ok albeit rushed if you ask me. has a Romeo and Juliette kind of vibe but with angels and gangsters. normally I've give the second book in the series a try but I'm just going to call it at one and done.

Tragic but so good

Well done. An enchanting, sexy angel romance. The cliffhanger was rough! But you bet your behind I’ll be getting the next one.

the tragic you'll love because it hurts so good

"Into his mouth I poured my slowing heart beats and softening breaths until my body released my ruined soul from its cage of flesh and blood."

When I told you this book destroyed me! Ugh it was such an amazing book through and through. The audiobook narration was perfection and duet style which is a plus. This book has an implied HEA, but it's going to hurt, so have book 2 and 3 on standby because you'll want to binge it. I love this take on angels and how they receive their wings. It made me guessing 'the system'. I have never felt so strongly for the love story between two beings, and have never raged so much for the unfairness of their world. I hope you love this trilogy as much as I did.

What a horrible ending! Not sure if this book should be sold to impressionable people that might think suicide is ok!!!!

And Once We Get Steamy, the Plot Goes Off the Rails

Arrrggghhhh. I enjoyed Wildenstein’s Kingdom of Crows Series, so I turned to this series. For the first half of the story, I liked it. Different fantasy concept, felt like it was going to build and be twist after twist, and then … nosedive. I am tired of these fantasy novels with the slow burn build to then simply stay locked in the sexual intimacy. The moment they hook up, the story falls completely apart. Characters take 180° turns, it becomes tedious, ridiculous, plot holes and land mines.

Then, I accidentally find out Book Two is not exactly a continuation, two characters will bisect in an unlikely romance that is highly unbelievable. And well, I get a spoiler that makes me just stop the book, not even finish it, and rue the wasted time.

Props to Holly Fielding. However, I am underwhelmed and frustrated.

Authors - PLEASE STOP BEING LAZY AND MAKING 1/3 of THE BOOK’S PAGES ALL ABOUT SEX. That tells me it’s fluff and padding. I get it. So many holes in the story, and you can’t fill them with repeated scenes in the bedroom.

Underated(contains spoilers)

I've seen people say they don't like this book because a woman gave up her dreams for a man. She didn't, her dreams changed. I loved the journey that this book took mw on and cannot wait for the next installment.
