Starting to slow down
Reviewed: 04-10-23
I'm not sure what happened here. The MC goes to a new world at the end of the last book and starts this book dead and with no memory. Seems like a book is missing.

Story
Kai has been doing well in achieving his goal of taking over the entire Avlaim region. Step by step, he has been advancing on this difficult road, but even this is only the beginning. Now he has to work on bettering not only himself, but his entire organization as this is the only way to obtain enough resources and power to find and save his friends. But change is not an easy thing, and few people like it. With his actions, Kai disrupted centuries of stability and drew too much attention to the Avlaim region.

Different story

This book was more about the development of his clan, and not the MC. I enjoy the stories because I enjoy watching the MC develop. Doesn't really happen in this one.

Really like the series

I really enjoy this series. The only part that bothered me was reading off all the titles Zack received. however, the author stopped about half way into the book. Great job.

Story
Acclaimed, New York Times best-selling fantasist Raymond E. Feist gets his masterful Serpentwar Saga off to a spectacular start with Shadow of a Dark Queen. Feist’s classic epic fantasy adventure returns listeners to ever-imperiled Midkemia, a breathtaking, richly imagined realm of magic and intrigue, where two unlikely heroes must rally the forces of the land to stand firm against a malevolent race of monsters intent upon conquest and annihilation.

Great story, lots of repetitive words.
Reviewed: 04-02-21
I loved the story. It starts like every other sword and fantasy book, but the personality of the characters and speech made me laugh at parts. the only complaint I have is that there was a lot of repetitive use of the word "said". I would suggest using other words in its place for a better read.
