Story
Harriet and Wyn have been the perfect couple since they met in college—they go together like salt and pepper, honey and tea, lobster and rolls. Except, now—for reasons they’re still not discussing—they don’t. They broke up five months ago. And still haven’t told their best friends.

I’m going through these books like wildfire. She is an amazing story teller. And the narrator is probably the best I have ever listened to. Just. So. Damned. Good.

Story
Daphne always loved the way her fiancé Peter told their story. How they met (on a blustery day), fell in love (over an errant hat), and moved back to his lakeside hometown to begin their life together. He really was good at telling it…right up until the moment he realized he was actually in love with his childhood best friend Petra. Which is how Daphne begins her new story.

Story
Alice Scott is an eternal optimist still dreaming of her big writing break. Hayden Anderson is a Pulitzer-prize winning human thundercloud. And they’re both on balmy Little Crescent Island for the same reason: To write the biography of a woman no one has seen in years—or at least to meet with the octogenarian who claims to be the Margaret Ives. Tragic heiress, former tabloid princess, and daughter of one of the most storied (and scandalous) families of the 20th Century.

Story
I loved Laney Landers before most people learned to read. Blonde hair, blue eyes that rivaled the ocean, and an invisible halo over her head. She stole my heart the same day she threw sand in my face. What started as a friendship grew into so much more. I thought she'd be my forever. But then life threw me a curveball and I changed course. Laney moved on and found a different happily ever after . . . while I wallowed in grief and regret. And now she's here, reminding me that I made the biggest mistake of my life.

So repetitive!
Reviewed: 06-06-25
If I never hear the words “pushed to his/her feet again” it will be too soon. If I had been playing a drinking game, I would be hospitalized. There has to be many other ways to say that - and once I had heard it over and over it was like a sore thumb every time it was repeated . That and “threw my/his/her head back in laughter. The story was ok

Story
Sometimes relationships come along that define you. Someone who brings out sides of you that no one else sees. The reason that you try to be the best version of yourself. Savannah Abbott was my North Star growing up. She was my best friend, my neighbor, and the person who knew me best. But without warning, she was gone in the blink of an eye.

I never want to hear “waggled her/his brow” again
Reviewed: 05-14-25
I listened to all 5 books and boy was there a lot of brow waggling and lip biting. I wish the author would come up with some new facial expressions. I enjoyed the stories of all of the characters throughout the series( that’s why I pushed through and read them all) although,to be honest, Cutler (Beef Cake - gag)started sounding like a bit of a pistol (and in a kind of creepy way) with his “my girl” stuff. It stopped being cute before book one was over. Seems like he will turn out to be a real womanizer - and I’ve yet to meet a 5 year old who speaks like he does.

Reviewed: 02-21-25
I have listened to several of her books and have enjoyed them. You know how it is when the narrator adds to and accentuates the story? This is not one of those times. The horrible Italian accent is so distracting I can hardly listen. I will finish it because I am not a quitter. But, ugh.
